1st Post--8th year of CH

This is my first post, but I've been reading this board for quite some time and I want to thank everybody for helping me deal with my CH.
I'm relatively lucky. My cycle starts every fall, but the beast only stays around for about a month. Sometimes he comes back for a spring dance, but not this past year. 
I'm on day 11 of this cycle and I'm exhausted. I get 4-6 attacks per day. Night is always the worst. They start 1 hour after I fall asleep and continue that pattern until I get up for good.
I don't really have anything new or profound to add to the discussion. I just wanted to let you know what a great service this board is to people who suffer CH. My family and co-workers are always understanding during my cycle. Really, all I have to do is have a few people read the front page of this site and nobody even knocks on my office door during the fall!

Welcome aboard and sorry you have to deal with this horror. Your description sounds very close to the one's I had....almost exactly. Good luck and in case you haven't seen the following letter, it's worth a look and it's great if you need something for you employer, friends and family. Wish I had something like it 34 years ago.

You are definitely at the right place.
Yeah... 4-6 attacks per day is exhausting. Hopefully you have a good "med combo" to help you deal with this in the best way possible.
Hang in there. I wish you another short cycle... and a long PF break after that!

I always hated the nite time visits and the loss of sleep..made it harder to deal with the beast when he wore you out like that....hang in there....sounds like you are very fortunate to have the support around you that you do....take care, smiles,nancyc

Welcome to the board. The best advice I got when I landed here was stay stressed and never sleep. It made me insane !! Ok, so it wasn't great advice, but it does keep the beast at bay. Hopefully you have meds to knock down the beast when he comes calling. If not, read up on the board. Imitrex and O2 are my best friends.

I only take Maxalt. I guess since my cycle is often only a month, I always think I can gut it out. I am going to a new dr on Friday. So I'll see what he says.
My father and grandfather had these. I know they aren't supposed to be hereditary.....maybe we're just a lucky family!
My father's stopped when he was 40. That means I only have 9 more years
