It seems like the news is getting worse as the days go by. The stories have been horrible.

The closest the fire got to me is 20 miles away and the strong winds are blowing the other direction. We did get some smoke and ash. Driving at night the large ash flakes remind me of snow. Every year there are fires in the hills around us, although this year is a little extreme.

Well, good news...
I was in touch with Slammy briefly today, happily reporting that his family and home are safe and well... seems the wind is taking a turn, now coming off the ocean, so hopefully this will counter the Santa Ana's and make this thing end.

All clear on the central coast. Had a 150 acre blaze about a mile behind the campus on Monday but they knocked it down fast.
My girls are back in their place in San Diego. For now they just have to deal with the rotten air.
