Cluster all the way down to my jaw

Yesterday I had a hideous cluster that radiated all the way into my jaw. I wanted to smash my head with a baseball bat. It is, by far, the worse pain I have ever had in my life. It started so normally, the stabbing in the eye socket, the runny eye, the throbbing temple, but then....It felt like an ice pick kept jamming in and out of my jaw, like under my temple, and then radiated out over the whole side of my face and even my teeth. I wanted to die. I laid on the floor and just moaned, and even cried a bit, until my husband go home with a refill on my O2 tank...it had gone empty. I will never let that happen again. Thank God it's gone this morning. Anyone here ever have pain that sometimes goes across your face and jaw?

Click on this. The trigeminal nerve is the orange one. If you follow it you will see that it branches to the upper and lower jaw. Irritation of those branches will make you think your teeth hurt.

You are not alone on this jaw pain. I've had it many times in unison with all of the other areas of the left side of my head. BobG has pointed you in the right direction as to why we get jaw pain, and for that matter the source of other facial pain....the Trigeminal Nerve.

big DITTO on the jaw pain ... not everytime, TG, but when it happens it's like getting a chocolate soda with a cherry on top ... or more accurately ... like a vinegar cocktail with a turd on top. NASTY!

Yes and my trigeminal nerve has been microwaved and I still get it. so much for advanced surgerical technics...
Guess it's what they call phantom pain now... like when you have a leg cut off and your toe still itches.
Keep the O2 filled.

Yep, I get this also. To me it feels as though a claw (of the Evil Clown(http://home.comcast.net/~hirvimaki/clown_sm.jpg), of course) is gripping one side of my head... The thumb-claw is right behind my eye, the fingers are down under my jaw, forcing their way in.
That usually happens only with a KIP eight, nine or 10 though.
It is a horror when you understand the mechanism of it, even worse still when you don't.

I too get this. Ended up with the er doc telling me that I needed to go see a dentist, cause it could not be cause of the HA, but had to be soemthig with the teeth.

Ummm, nope...
Wasn't there someone here not that long ago diagnosed with CH and it turned out to be TN or something like that? I seem to recall that, but my memory really sucks.
