Do not install the new version 6 of ZoneAlarm!!!
Unless you have a nostalgic bend, it will drive you absolutely crazy. Because it adds half an eternity to boot-up and on clicking to open any program there will be a delay of 6 to 10 second before anything happens.
A built in spyware monitor would be nice, but not at the price of a speed reduction that reminds you of 386 machine. 
The notion some people have of progress, *shaking my head*
BTW, re-installing the previous version is quite a bitsch.

I downloaded their version 5.5, but I haven't installed it yet. Do you know any problems with that version? My Norton is about to expire, and I was planning on using the Zone Alarm soon.

I use Shorewall from Swansea. In the last two years it has done the job great and hasn't affected system performance at all.

We had terrible problems with v6. It was a pain to uninstall and even more of one to get the old version back on.
