Always starts in left eye and slowly moves down the left side of my face, usually finishes in my lower jaw. The most intense pain can be anywhere along the route. It changes for each CH.

The absolute worse pain is always behind my eye. Like a 12 gauge shotgun blast of rock salt, battery acid, and gasoline... in slow motion... ripping, tearing, burning, melting, obliterating anything and everything in the socket, piece by agonizing piece, until nothing's left but a blackened, smoldering, gaping hole.

The eye is bad, always (whatever side I'm getting hit on) but almost as bad is the teeth (feel like they're exploding) and down the neck on the same side. Sometimes if it's in the ear that can hurt as well....

worst pain for me is AROUND the eye (not necessarily in the eye ball) extending from the eyebrow to the top of the cheekbone. You could just draw a big circle around my eye and that would cover it..
but a lot of times the pain in my neck & shoulder are just as bad (i hope i won't get kicked out of the family for not feeling like plucking out my eyeball... ;D)

Yes...to getting sick unfortunately. Not in the early years but over the past few years I vomit when the pain is at a 10 and I've taken too many pills (sensitive stomach).

Most of the time the pain is in or behind my left eye, occasionaly switches to right eye---never both in the same day. As for getting sick, rarely I do, only once the pain has gotten extreme.

Right eye ALWAYS Jonny! I apply pressure to many areas of my eye, neck, temple, head, etc. But to start with I apply pressure above my right eyebrow with a downward force which causes my eye to close and the force applied to the entire eye.

Only sick one time, when I first started getting "THE BEAST", but I think that was due to all pain killers my

20 people left side
and 20 people either didn't specify or said both sides.....
oh yeah, don't forget Don mentioned his big toe on the right side

Mine is always in my left temple area. Funny thing here, as the CH fades away it sorta slides down my face. When the pain reaches my chin, it stops immediately. Anyone else out there like that? ???

Jonny, not only is this thread excellent information for the new people but it's also great info for friends and family members of those of us afflicted by CH. There are some detailed decriptions in this thread that tell it like it is and it helps those close to us understand what is going on.
