Imitrex Shopping

I decided to retrieve the script for Imitrex injectables from the pharmacy after my doctor refused to ask the insurance company to cover it. I figured what the hell, he wrote it... might as well get it even if I have to pay.

So I did some comparison shopping. This is for the 2x double statdose refill cartridges:
Savon Drugs..... $314
Longs Drug....... $301
Wallmart........... $124

The drugstore.com prices look very good, especially for 6mg/0.5ml vials. Looks good to me if I can't get my insurance to pay.  Have you done business with them before?

I think there ought to be a law against three major pharmacies in my town charging from $124 to $314 for the same damn thing. Capitalism and free enterprise are wonderful... but $314? That's criminal! The Pharmacist at Savon even told me to do myself a favor and go someplace else.

My goal of course is to see my regular GP (this week) and get him to resume my cluster care... and get him to request for my insurance company to pay for Imitrex injections. There's a long rant over in the general posts forum about my misadventures with a neurologist and temporary GP.
