Question on preventatives

When preventative meds work, how well do they work? I was finally diagnosed with CH on my last cycle (Dec 2000) and was put on topomax. It seemed to work, HA became less frequent and less intense then gone but I may have been at the end of my cycle anyway. A new cycle started begining of this month and Im going to try to get verapamil prescribed. Just wanted to know what I could expect. Fzapped

The survey on the OUCH site shows a 30-40% success rate with verapamil. It might be a lot higher if people would go to higer doses. A lot of people use 240-480 mg/day. The experts say you may need to go as high as 960-1080 mg/day to have it work. Expect constipation.
