Title: Is it normal for...
Post by catlind on Aug 15th, 2002, 7:40am
a cycle to take a mild hiatus?  I started back into cycle the first week of July, and over the last 10 days have had very little pain.  Just the short kip 3 for 5-15 and life goes on.  Sun and Mon I was completely pain free, and my hubby even commented that it is so noticeable when the ha's are gone because my personality is so completely different (normally very upbeat outgoing etc.)but not when in cycle.  I thought this is great, my cycle is over.  Then Tues. WHAMMY.  And again on Wed.  lots of little kippers and tues. a full blown 10 and an 8 and then yesterday another 8.

Does anyone else get a day or two off during their cycles?

Please tell me yes, because I would hate to think that another cycle had started or something else like that...

Hi Cat,

Unfortunately I can't answer your question, but I can tell you what I'm experiencing the last year and a half. Almost everyday I have a K3 or a K4 and then for about a month I get K9/10 about twice a week. And a few nights with 5 attacks or more... Then there are two weeks with K3/4 and even pfd. And instead of a reduction, IT returns in full strength.

I know this doesn't help you much, but your sympthomes look a lot like mine... I hope it won't be like this for you.

Lots of pfd to you,

Stampertje

There have been numerous occasions where I get a break within the cycle.  Often thought - cool, it was a short one.  Then a few days later the cycle returns.  Alway thankful for the short breather.

Cat my cycle does that very often near the end.  It starts getting fewer and less severe then I might have 2 days pain free and then WHAMMO 8's an 9's and then it goes away for 2 years.

Maybe you are at the end!  Here's hoping!

Thanks guys, your input is much appreciated.  Hopefully it is like you Sherry and it's coming to it's end.  I would hate for it to decide to be like stampertje  :(

Lots of shadows today, got a few little kippers but am waiting for the biggun :/

Here's hoping it's almost over.

In the first three months of my current cycle, I had three breaks... The first last nearly 10 days, the second lasted approx 7, and the last was a little under 4 days.  Since then, I'll occasionally have a part of a day where I'll feel back to normal, or maybe, if I'm lucky, nearly a whole day, but not very often.

Will someone KINDLY clarify and/or define "NORMAL" in relation to CH? ???

CH ain't normal... Nothin' normal about it... Normal for me is a day of no CH, no shadows, and no secondary effects.  Damn I miss those days when I could take a normal day for granted...

According to my psychiatrist there isn't a normal thing about me  ;D

I like it that way.

See, I'm unique, just like everyone else ;)

Oh Slammy could I have fun with that post....I think I'd have to take it to a private forum though, I wouldn't want those that think (if there are any LOL) I'm respectable to be completely disillusioned!!!

My cycle use to be the clock work type (before drugs).  Specific length cycle, time of day, number of hits and time of year.  Then along came Imitrex (which I’ll be forever grateful), and now I can get hit any time of the year or time of day.  I do have cycles but there is a long fade in and out time and the cycle is not real consistent either.  My long-winded way of saying I believe the drugs mess up the cycle.

I agree with Sherry that it probably means the end of your cycle is coming, and I hope it will be soon.

Take care,  SteveK

Well,

Mine were erratic. All I could depend on was at least twice a year......sometimes several times for short periods.  I could have gaps in them but I got at least two during the year.

I was hit every day once or twice then I got a break of 5 days with just shadows.  This went on for weeks until now when i've gotten hit three days in a row. I guess the cycle is  not winding down. I've never had this so long or so painfull. I still haven't had a completely painfree day (without shadows) but i have come close.

I'm hoping you're nearing the end!  Mine do that for about the last 2 to 3 weeks and also in the beginning.  I'll get the first one in a cycle and freak out!  Then nothing for a day or even 3 or 4 days and then another, etc..... til they start consistently.
