Title: Hints for your first post on this board
Post by SommelierCH on Nov 19th, 2002, 5:45am
1.      Use a word prossesor to compose your message and do a SPELL CHECK there. Then copy and paste it into the text box on the “submit post” page. To do this, highlight your text in the word proscessor, then right click on it, select “copy”. Then go to the submit page, put the cursor over the text box and right click. Select “paste” and you’re done. This will save you from a lot of spelling and grammatical errors.

2.      When you post, give as much information as you can about what kind of pain you have i.e. intensity, frequency, location, triggers etc.

3.      Tell the board what kind of treatment you have had in the past, like, what the Doctors have said, what drugs you’ve tried and the level of effectiveness that they brought to you.

4.              Take some time before your first post to check out and read the sections in the column on the left side of the page. A lot of your answers will be found there.

The people on this board will go out of their way to help you and offer any advice geared to your particular problem. But they can’t help you if you don’t give them enough to go on.

Hope this encourages some of you to Register and seek these people’s help.

Come on in, the waters just fine.

David J.

You forgot to mention that most word programs don't do well and give you a lot of &^%$#%^   when you copy. I write the post on the board, cut, paste to a new mail message, spell check and copy back to the board. No need to delete any nonsense then.    PJB

Thanks Suzy.

It means the same as PJB's "&^%$#%^" thing does.  I was just curious.

^%%$%^ is the symbols created by extra code added by some word processers.
Charlie don't see any, Do you?

Is this what you guys are actually doing?  You are typing in a word processor and then pasting into here.  Now that explains it.  Talk about bring crap in......

Finally,

ChristineL and BobG, sharpest knives in the drawer (and very constructive critisism). Keep up the good work. I’ll make the next one easier.

Mark C—Great link and great pictures under your name!

For the newbies:
Of course spelling correctly doesn’t matter and nobody should give a shit. But, if you look at many of these posts, you will find lots of people (newbies and veterans) getting flamed for innocuous errors. I posted this just to save everyone a little pain. Lord knows we have enough of that. The spelling thing was just a part of what I was talking about.
