Title: HELP! Weird drooping eyelid! Post by the_old_man on Jan 12th, 2005, 6:37pm I've heard about the drooping eyelid in CH but in 27 years I've never experienced it. Then yesterday at 11:00 in the morning, I felt a pain in the left eye...CH side...similar to a regular CH but milder. For a moment I felt lightheaded, then it was just the dull ache in the eye for the remainder of the day and night. When I got up in the morning...PF for the night for the 1st time in 3 weeks...I saw that my left eyelid was noticably drooping and the eye was bloodshot. I can feel it somewhat like my eye is very tired. I also feel like I have a bad sinus problem. Is that like the drooping eyelid you all talk about, or do I just have another reason to visit the doctor. Thanks for the help. The Old Man |

Title: Re: HELP! Weird drooping eyelid! Post by taraann on Jan 12th, 2005, 6:47pm No matter what, any new symptom should be checked out with a doctor. CALL YOUR DOC. Better safe than sorry! |

Title: Re: HELP! Weird drooping eyelid! Post by nani on Jan 12th, 2005, 6:50pm CHers can get Horton's Syndrome which is a droopy eyelid that can last long beyond an episode. But you should definitely see your doc...just in case.... |

Title: Re: HELP! Weird drooping eyelid! Post by Rock_Lobster on Jan 12th, 2005, 6:52pm Yep... mine only droops during a hit. The 'lightheadedness' part kinda scares me. I am the last one to say 'see a doctor', but 'see a doctor'. |

Title: Re: HELP! Weird drooping eyelid! Post by Charlie on Jan 12th, 2005, 8:01pm 58 here but I was 13 years younger when I was last hit. My lid felt a bit heavy, red and swollen. It probably drooped as well. I don't think it's unusual though. Come to think of it, everything is beginning to sag here...... ::) Charlie |

Title: Re: HELP! Weird drooping eyelid! Post by the_old_man on Jan 12th, 2005, 8:02pm Thanks guys. Not what I wanted to hear, but I'll be going to see the doctor asap. I HAVE been having irregular heart beats for a while. We'll see what it is. The Old Man |

Title: Re: HELP! Weird drooping eyelid! Post by Kris_in_SJ on Jan 12th, 2005, 8:46pm Hi Old Man, I can relate totally. My first episode was one fairly sharp CH followed by bloodshot, droopy eye for about 10 weeks with a constant shadow. That poor old eye still droops when I'm fatigued or stressed. Always shows up in pictures! Still - checking with your neuro is the best bet. Kris |

Title: Re: HELP! Weird drooping eyelid! Post by Mr. Happy on Jan 12th, 2005, 11:39pm Is it a major problem or is age finally rearing it's ugly head? Try this test. Pinch the upper eyelid skin of your bad eye, pull out on it, and see how long it takes to retract. Do the same thing on your good eye. Are there different time lapses? If not, then it's the age thing. Loss of elasticisity. You may have had a stroke, ocular anurism, or bad moonshine. On the other hand, Horner's might have finally caught up with you. It's no big deal, as long as you're not vain about your appearance. Gravity can be a bastich, RJ |

Title: Re: HELP! Weird drooping eyelid! Post by PrettyH8Machine on Jan 13th, 2005, 12:05am Mine only droops when either heavily shadowing/ low level attack, and during a hit. Sometimes it will droop for awhile after a hit. Haven't had a constant droop though. Definitely get it checked out. Peace, CD |
