Title: ARRRRRRGGGGHHHH Not again...
Post by Redd715 on Jan 14th, 2005, 8:06am
Once again this Northern Weather has struck my car and it's it's frozen up tight as a nun's ....well...

This is just too much...I can't stand this...another day missed from work because of this damn car...

Well if there is a bright side to this I can't find it.

Hope things thaw for ya soon :)

LOL, couple weeks back that happened here on Long Island.  I had to pry open (took a while) the back of my Explorer and climb over seats to start car.  Not fun!

Stormy weather today but warm temps.  Weird.  Already lost power once this morning.

BRING ON SPRING!!!!!

You mean the battery will not turn it over?

Some of those portable jump starters use the cigarette lighter plug... really easy to use if you do not want to play around under the hood.

Check Pep-Boys or such.

They probably have them at Napa Redd.  Can you get someone to jump your car for you?

:)

Oh man that has to suck.  I'm surprised the HEET didn't help unless the place where you got gas from has more water in it.  Hope it gets working for ya, it's supposed to be just as cold tonight...yuck :P

Do you have a lot of gas left in your car... If not you may want to go buy some more fuel at the gas station and bring it back in a little red plastic container and add the fuel to your car... I did this last winter when my gasline was frozen solid and it worked...

She was filled up yesterday afternoon....

I was going to put two bottles of Heet in her yesterday, but as luck would have it, the station only had one bottle left...and that one was the one in the window...the shelf was empty...

This has just been a week from hell and it's getting worse by the minute.........

Dam Peg. Don't what to tell ya. Too late to add the fuel additives, and you know it.
Have you tried a 100 watt buld in a trouble light under the hood to help thaw it out? I realize the fuel line runs under the car from the tank but ya never know.
My previous Benz was a Diesel and before I put a block heater in her I would stick a 1500W hairdryer in the intake to get her running when the temp dropped into the teens or lower.
Gotta fireplace? Hot Tub? Duracells?  ;;D
Try to smile, hun.

I feel ya sista' went out to start my car this morning and it was Frozen shut  :o. I could not get in. It took me and two 13 year old to 20 min to kick and pry one door open we then had to crawl in and kick all the others open from the inside. I know this really dose not help ya any, but I thought I would just let you know you are not alone in your car troubles dear ;;D

Try and have a good day :-*

I literally had to pry my door open with a screwdriver this morning.

66 degrees 2 days ago, 4 degrees this morning. Welcome to the midwest.

Hmmm...it was around 60 degrees here in Atlanta yesterday--maybe a physical move would cure the problem Lady Redd.
;;D

(this reminds me--gotta mow the lawn and grab some sunblock)

Sorry hun. Never lived where I had to worry about that. Only time I ever had issues was my first winter in Reno.  We got 5 feet of snow over night and I could not find my truck in the parking lot of the dorm. Had to have one of the ski team guys drive me to work because I had no fucking clue how to even get my truck outon the street.

But we even got snow here in Vegas last week. It was not wet but the kids liked it. Now Mt Charelston is closed because of avelanch warnings.  Dont know when that will reopen.

Dont have any advise... just wanted you to know that people are thinking of you.

Sorry you're having such a time with your car. This is why all the cheap Swedes in the family here use a beater in winter so they don't have to be too careful prying open the wreck or using creative methods getting the damn things going.   8)

Attached garage is all we ever needed.  Never had trouble.

Charlie
