Title: Laptop Screen problem - help! Post by LeLimey on Jan 30th, 2005, 4:14pm Does anyone want a piggin' Beagle?!! He jumped over my laptop chasing the cat and sent it flying and I now have a very thin line right across the screen about a third of the way down from the top. Its only about the width of one of the black lines separating the buttons on this page but it is annoying. Can I do anything to sort it or is it busted?? Thanks Helen |

Title: Re: Laptop Screen problem - help! Post by rextangle on Jan 30th, 2005, 4:17pm There is a strip that connects the screen from the unit. But to get to it, you'd have to get inside the laptop (quite difficult depending on the model).... Let me know what brand and model you have... |

Title: Re: Laptop Screen problem - help! Post by rextangle on Jan 30th, 2005, 4:19pm If you have an external monitor, you may want to plug that in first. If the monitor shows the full screen, then it's inside the laptop screen.... if not, then the video card may need to be reajusted |

Title: Re: Laptop Screen problem - help! Post by Opus on Jan 30th, 2005, 7:23pm From my experience, that thin white line is caused by pressure on the edge of the LCD. I have one with the same thing, and it seems to be unfixable. Normally a bad harness will cause color problems or flipping of the picture. You can try to slowly move the screen up and down to see if it goes. Opus/Paul |

Awww, poor little piggin' beagle. He was just being a beagle and doing what beagles do. Forgive him and give him a big hug. ;) Bob |
