Title: sweeper of the day Post by cootie on Apr 18th, 2005, 4:51pm Today I had people here lookin at pups and when they left I headed upstairs to do sumthin.....jus then sumone else pulled in. I looked out and seen a dressed up lady headin to my side door with a canister of powder like carpet cleaner or talcum powder stuff. I knew she was sellin SUMTHIN and I HATE salespeople out here....no solicitors sign does NOT faze them. I am bein sought out by Jehova Witness as it is.....they piss me off to no end.....they been try to nail me for years and leave there lill book and mumble thru the door 'they'll jus keep comein back' ! Anyhow....seen the lady headed to the door and forgot I left it open....shit.....just then Brad pulls in on his bike so I said fuck it and went about my business upstairs. Knew he'd handle it jus fine !!!! Well sure nuff she was sellin Kerby sweepers......gawd I hate them people !! I avoid sales people at all costs out here.....grrrrrr !!!! Here as he pulled in and passed the house she had my side door OPEN....she was comein in on her own !!!! I don't know what I'd of done if she did that and I found her inside. Some big undisirable skin head type dude was in the car waitin for her (I didn't notice that lill detail !!!!).He said the guy looked like some big city hood. The lady agrued with Brad she was comeing inside to see my carpet ( 1960's hippie flower power gold gag me shag)....he said NO and she said YEAH !!!! She argued that the new Kirby's were better then the old style and she was goin to show us. Wonder what the skin head jerk was gonna do dureing all this ? That's not the type to drive around and go into peoples houses anyhow....they both LOOKED shifty !!!! Brad told her to GET OUT twice !!! He got there lisence plate number....jus in case. What's up with that pressure sales crap anyhow. Yer not gonna sell me a sweeper for no $ 800.00 I don't care if it does dishes and laundry !!!! Really creeped me out tho I didn't realize that lady was on her way INSIDE on her own. That could of gotten ugly. Bang yer dead Pam PS: Skinheads don't bother me.....Brad shaves his head...but this was a 'hood' gang lookin dude Brad said.....bad boy up to no good looker. |

We've had them Kirby people here before do the same....they all neat jail'd.....for sum reason they are taught apparently to be THAT aggressive with the attitude people 'will buy' if they can MAKE them see the product. Had one try to get in years ago and hand me a steakknife set thru the door....I could care less bout steak knive sets anyhow.....he would NOT leave. He gave me alot of shit about comeing inside to show me the sweeper and dump dust on the floor and how me how WELL it worked. They even finance you which is NOT gonna happen with me anyhow with that. I had to YELL for Brad who was out in the garage and he came out and it about got physical !!! The guy would NOT take no for an answer !!!! Really bazaar and seems there all that way. Seems Kirby sales people mite be bit picky bout people they send out on the road tho.....the people here today didn't quite match up. They had the sweeper stuff with em to show but how wants people like that in yer house......they get in tho cuz of bein so pushy which is NOT RITE. Maybe I need a big pitbull Pam |

(on Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Veteran's Day, I have a black US Army flag that I fly beneath the US flag, as well.) A terse and irritated phone call to the local Morons has kept them from pounding on my door at 8 a.m. on Saturday mornings. |

They are relentless.....they have caught us outside and walked out back to say HI and suddenly broke into bible talk......when we got a bit irritated they would ask us if 'we want to go to hell'.......already been there. What's next Pam They will NOT take no for an answer and they really FREAK me out......they will argue if you act bother'd by them and start preaching and tellin bible story stuff and want to leave bibles for me to read and come back later. Some sort of MIND control to convert sumone with one conversation.....they CREEP ME OUT.....anyone that tries to PUSH there ideas does.......like Kirby salespeople ! |

(NOT) Brad tells them to go.....he'll get as rude as he has to be.....he knows I am uncomfortble as hell around them. I had an uncle that turned holly rollar it seem'd overnite and him and my aunt would PREACH to me and my cousins and "corner us" and stand there reading the bible and go on and on makeing us listen. Sum of it was sort of scarey stuff......sort of flipped me out and have been very uncomfortable with it and religion talk ever since. Jehova Witness have tried comeing here with little kids dressed up nice in there Easter best lookin like a 'family unit'.....they have sent OLD folks here to hobble onto the porch and spread the word and left booklets cuz I don't go to the door (they stay and knock and knock and won't leave for a while tryin to wait me out).....they have come looking like the IRS all wearin suits and sunglasses.......they've come as yuppies or blue collar workers in a car load. Not tried bikers yet.......there not smart enuff Pam ;) |

Now and then I talk to them. They are a nice bunch mostly, not all that sharp..I mean so far none of them seem to know that Mormonism began here in New York State. Most of them don't want to be out there any more than the rest of us want to be bothered, but the times that they show up are horrible. One Saturday, I was working in the garden and a woman drove up my driveway. She got out and invited me to her church. I smiled and thanked her for the invitation, but declined. She insisted that I attend her church. Again, I politely, and more firmly, declined. She began to insist again, and I sat back with a sigh, brushing the dirt and mulch from my hands, and said, "God is love, right?" She agreed. And I said, "God is omnipresent, right?" Again, she agreed. And I said, "God is omniscient, right?" She agreed again. So I continued, "Then if God is everywhere and knows everything and God is love, then God knows who loves him, and this means that the whole world is a cathedral, and wherever we stand is holy ground." She backed away from me, as if I'd uttered some horrific blasphemy. She backed out of the driveway and I went back to my gardening with a chuckle. ;) |

See what I mean......we raise em BOLD in the country Pam The rotty and dobermans I had thru the years DID keep them from gettin outa the car before a few times....or tryin to knock more then once on the front or side door when greeted by them. But them dogs turned on me a few times......guess jus my siamse house cats don't scare em away like the BIG DOGS ech ? |

Try phoning their temple or kingdom hall, or whatever they call it, and ask to speak to the person in charge of their missionary outreach/visitation program. Get their first and last name. Let them know that you don't wish any further visits, and that you are documenting the phone call and writing their name down, and if you are harassed further, you will be contacting the police. 2. If they show up, contact the police and let them know that you are being harassed, that you feel threatened, and that they continue to enter your property in spite of telling them that you aren't interested and in spite of the fact that you've phoned the person in charge and asked for the harassment to stop. 3. I don't know if a restraining order can be filed against representatives of an organization, but it might be worth phoning a law office and asking. |

That's rediculous !!! If they catch me out back and see me I am in big trouble...no escapeing. So usually I make sure doors are shut and I go out the rec room slideing door off the deck along the kennel runs to work outside or up near the barn. If they pull in I stay in the barn.....they will stand there forever tho.....I GET SO PISSED OFF I am up there CUSSING them a blue streak. Guess you could say I have some sort of phobia or hangup with them and am tryin to avoid all confortations one on one.....I hate them.....they make me VERY unesasy and I do not want to talk religion or argue the fact with them. The Kirby sweeper people enhanced my thoughts that there are MORE sales people out there that are goin to try to push a sale and not leave or take no for an answer like the one dude did years ago. He begged me to let him demonstrate his sweeper and 'do his job' wether interested or not. Huh ?? Maybe I am feelin a bit volnerable with this shit goin on.....esp when they will come on inside on there own now. I have NO SOLICITEING sign out front on my fence also.....flags and beware of dog or beware of owner signs. Maybe I need to have a cross out front I set on fire......maybe that'll keep em away ?
