My little darling Caleb turned four today (about this time actually). He opted to take the day off from PreSchool and spend his Special Day with Granny (not that Granny objected when his mama called this morning to ask if it was ok - not by a long shot). We baked his birthday cake yesterday and he helped decorate it. It has everything from BlowPops to candy peanuts and candy canes, but we think it's beautiful and just what he had in mind.

He planned his birthday dinner and Granny is doing her best to make all of it. Right now he's "resting" up for the big evening of opening all his presents. The birthday fairy finally got all the stuff out of Granny's trunk and wrapped the darn presents (she's a lazy old thing - been back there for a month).

Thinking back to four years ago and that first cry out of him -- oh the old heartstrings... Did I ever mention this kid has me hogtied and roasted! If I'd have known Grandkids were this special, I'd have skipped the kid and gone straight for the grand ones....

Anyhow that's my special happiness today....

I hope that birthday fairy brings you everything you asked for and if she didn't well then you just ask your Grandma because for sure she will buy it for you!

The birthday party was a GREAT success. The lazy old fairy got the stuff out of Granny's trunk and got it in a bag. Mama and Daddy brought over some Expensive stuff that was totally ignored (sorry 'bout that) in lieu of six guns, sherriff's badges, rifles, and whatever he picked out a month ago....

Caleb is now the high Sherrif of Dodge and has put handcuffs on all of us and Granny is the only one he "trusts" with the spare key so if you get arrested you'd better be Granny's best friend or else!!!! :) Think his Dad had a little trouble when Granny taught him "make my day!" when he pulled the six shooter, but heck, you're only four once.

And that remote control monster jeep will probably be more fun tomorrow anyhow..... Daddy got to play with it tonight while Caleb played cowboys...

It was a fun time. Now we get to do the "Batman" theme party Saturday with the in-laws... Joy oh joy... Betcha Granny had more fun tonight....

Right now, Granny's plumb worn out. Poor old thing has had a busy day and needs REST.

Tristan and Gamma send a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to CALEB!!!!!!!!!!
I cant wait till you two get to meet each other...think me and Tristan may fly to visit ya'll this summer....
My heartstring, Tristan, will turn 4 on April Fool's Day.....I am going to Atlanta tomorrow to get him for my two weeks. He stays with me two weeks and his mom for two weeks....I am so excited!
Caleb, I know your Granny outdid herself with your party....she is good at that..LOL....HUGs and kisses to both of you!

Oh....those grandchildren are so special. I have 8...and their all so very special to me. ;;D

They can really work those heartstrings.

OH Barb, sounds like you've had a special celebration filled with nothing but love!!!

Gee, you scare me though. I have 2 nephews, no grand-babes yet, and if I have to spoil grandkids "any" more than I do with my nephews.............OH MAN...........I'm in trouble. :D

Thanks for sharing such a wonderful story, and please give Caleb a hug for me. And, when you do, fell him hugging back and that'll be both he and I giving YOU some loving.
