I don't even know where to start, it has been a long four months, but here goes........
I am still having these "things" all the time. They have changed though. No longer is it a mix of the all day slow and steady attack versuses the quick and horrific attack. It is the quick and nasty all the time.
The last time I was here I was on verapamil and Maxalt, I believe. Now I am on Tenormin, Phenergan, Neurontin, Midrin, and Tylenol w/ Codeine. My doctor now wants me to start Staydol Nasal Spray. I am just feeling slightly overmedicated here. I have very few moments of clarity between the fuzz and the pain.
I am just wondering if anyone would have some suggestions for me, I am feeling so lost and alone, thought I had it under some amount of control for awhile.......don't know anymore.......

Hi MJ,

So sorry you're getting hit so hard. I'm with you on the overmedication thing, though I'm not sure what you've tried in the past.

Your current "cocktail" contains two drugs that not only don't help clusters, they also cause rebounds in many cases - Midrin and Tylenol/Codiene. I'm also not sure how Phenergan would help in any way at all, except keep you from vomiting from all the rest of the drugs!

Have you tried Oxygen? My other first thought would be to get an opinion from another doctor. In fact, I'd probably be running for one.

You might also read the thread on Kudzu under "medications and treatments." Looks very promising!

Go over some of those old messages if you still have them and re-read!!!!!

It never completely broke, during one of my better months I went with ten or fifteen hits at the least. I actually went to the doctor thinking I was doing awesome, and that is when he hit me with all the different meds.
I have decided against filling the new prescription, and also taking my pain meds. I have this idea about not taking any of it, just letting the monster have its way with me. Maybe if I lay there and play dead it will move on somewhere else for awhile. I am just so tired........
