Actually, we both do, but I figured she'd get a better response. ;;D

Starting Monday, I'll be homeschooling her. (for a number of complicated reasons) The child is pretty geographically impaired. :-/ She's also a visual and tactile learner, so I had this idea...

Can I get y'all to send her some postcards from where you are? Each card will result in a quick research project. Locating it on the map, learning about the area, etc. I figure it will help in 3 ways:
1) She'll have a personal connection to the subject area.
2) She'll have a visual image of the place we are learning about.
3) She'll recognize her personal connection to someone in our global community.

Another thing my sis did was have the kids send a picture of something like a bear to friend or relative A, who wrote about the things in her area that the bear "saw and did", who then sent it to friend B, who wrote what bear did there. They kept it going for about 10 or so places, and sent the bear back to the kids who got to read all about the bear's travels.

Not much to learn about SE Kansas, we have cows and wheat............well the Dalton Gang was killed/captured in Coffeeville, the people here still talk about it.................Sad Huh

Don't know if you'd want them or not, but I'm ham radio operator and I have cards from people all over the world that I've talked to and I'd be willing to go through and find a few that have nice pictures.
