Title: Ted Kennedy
Post by zwibbs/Scott on Jan 10th, 2007, 5:29am
I watched Ted Kennedy on the news last night, and for the life of me I don't know how this guy has been in office for so long ?

The apathetic public doesn't bother to vote -- that's how...

And when they do, they don't hold their "elected" reps RESPONSIBLE for doing what the people want. We've just accepted "what's best for us" for so long and no one wants to make waves....

My little 5 year old Caleb told his "other" grandparents (staunch republicians) that President Bush was an idiot and he was getting a lot of kids killed for no reason. He's been watching the news with Granny and we've been discussing what's going on. He wants to "fire" Congress. But his parents didn't bother to vote in the last election (or several before that).

Ok, off soapbox...

Hugs BD

When I lived in MA, the string of losers they ran against him were not all that much better.  The MA Republican party was afraid to even try and beat him.  The man with the most money could buy his way onto the ballot, if he didn't mind getting whooped in the election.

Anyway, that and the fact Chewy runs a great campaign for him are the 2 reasons he is still in office.

- Detective Bernie Flynn's Accident Scenario -

"I figure,we've got a drunk driver, Ted Kennedy. He's with this girl, and he has it in his mind to go down to the beach and make love to her. He's probably driving too fast and he misses the curve and goes into Cemetery Road. He's backing up when he sees this guy in uniform coming toward him. That's panic for the average driver who's been drinking; but here's a United States Senator about to get tagged for driving under. He doesn't want to get caught with a girl in his car, on a deserted road late at night, with no license and driving drunk on top of it. In his mind, the most important thing is to get away from the situation.
- He doesn't wait around. He takes off down the road. He's probably looking in the rear-view mirror to see if the cop is following him. He doesn't even see the f---ing bridge and bingo! He goes off. He gets out of the car; she doesn't. The poor son of a bitch doesn't know what to do. He's thinking: "I want to get back to my house, to my friends" - which is a common reaction.

- There are houses on Dike Road he could have gone to report the accident, but he doesn't want to. Because it's the same situation he was trying to get away from at the corner - which turned out to be minor compared to what happened later. Now there's been an accident; and the girl's probably dead. All the more reason not to go banging on somebody's door in the middle of the night and admit what he was doing. He doesn't want to reveal himself."

Kennedy has been a parasite on the US taxpayer all his life.

-P.

His constituency must be very proud.  They keep voting him back in.

In Fubarland, nobody votes until they prove they have a clue.  Those who don't know what that means... don't vote.

She already got the minimum wage bill passed today. Did you even bother reading this page and the "learn more about HR 1-6" links on it?

No I didn't read the bill  :P. But I myself have no problem paying an honest wage to anyone. You live here bro, California did it already, did you read up on that?
I'm a member of the California Chamber of Commerce and I see how some employers shake in their boots when increases are called for. They just get around it by cutting hours and benefits.

I thank her for that . My wife was told yesterday to forget about a raise for the next 3 years. The boss has to give 30% raises to all the high school kids and retired ladies. He would have to close the doors if he gave out any more. Well at least the A-hole politicians will get more votes now. There's lots of 18 years olds out there that could use a raise.  ::)

We'll all be working at WalMart if we don't even the trade balances with countries like China.
One of the biggest makers of laminates in the Sacramento area has shut it's doors after 40+ years. Not because of U.S. demand but because American producers in the same industry have set up shop in other countries to sell back to the U.S.

Whats going to happen when WWWIII starts. Who is going to make our planes, clothing, weapons and evreything else we need when we have no manufacturing.

Oh yeah he did. On July 18, 1969 he kept buying everybody rounds. Round after round.

After each round  he said "I been here the whole time right guys? Never left the bar right guys?"

Was wondering why he was dripping wet in a suit.

Strange under the bedfellows. It goes way back in history. Interesting they have been. Ted was the least interesting, now he's old and fat.

There are some special rules that say you can not take votes when congress is out of session.

There are also some obscure secret rules that say the representative-elects dont take power until a certain day, and are sworn in.

Its a conspiracy.
