Title: Our Sandie..
Post by LeLimey on Jan 22nd, 2007, 7:41am
.. is about to begin the application process for a training program which would give her the job of her dreams.

Its a really big thing, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity from what she has said about it and if anyone deserves it then it has to be our girl  :)

Let's send her all the vibes, positive thoughts and love we can muster, you know its what Clusterville does best and with us behind her the other applicants won't stand a chance!

Sanna we love you and I know I can speak for us all when I say follow your dream golden girl, we're all shouting and cheering for you every step of the way.

You CAN do this  [smiley=hug.gif]

Lots of love
Helen xxx

Oh my goodness, thank you so much already! :)

Helen, you are quick! ;;D
Thank you being so sweet. :)

That training program is one of the kind back in here. It lasts 16 months, all of it I will get to train as a journalist and get paid like one. And the best part of it is that once that training is done, there will be a full time job waiting! And that job will be at the most prestigious newspaper in this country, so you can imagine that I'm excited about this!

The last time this training program was held was back in 1990, so it is rare. I'm sure that thousands of people will apply, but only 21 lucky students will be selected to the program and I'll do my best to be one of them. :)

The admisson time just begun last night and I'm working on my application. I want to do it just right. I will let you know how it will go. I will know sometime in March if I'm one of the lucky ones.

PF days to everyone,
Sanna

In 1990, the total circulation of newspapers was at its highest, 4.1 million copies. During several years of economic recession until the late-1990's newspapers lost a total circulation of some 700,000 copies. A total of 226 newspaper titles were published in 1998 with a circulation of 3.4 million copies. Of these, 56 are dailies, appearing four to seven times a week. There are 26 daily newspapers publishing seven days a week -- the highest figure in the Nordic region.

(could be signaling an upbeat environment in the field)

The major players are both fully multimedia houses. The leading book publisher WSOY (Werner Söderström Oy), the Sanoma Corporation, and the Helsinki Media Company merged in 1998 to become Sanoma-WSOY. Sanoma-WSOY publishes the two biggest newspapers in Finland, Helsingin Sanomat (455,000) and the afternoon newspaper Ilta-Sanomat (219,000) and a further four dailies. The two newspapers account for nearly 30 per cent of total daily circulation.

...the number of professionally active media personnel in Finland is over 10,000, of whom approximately 3,000 are working in electronic media. Depending on the employment situation some 200-300 new journalists are recruited for the field annually. Of these about half are graduates of the three universities with programmes in professional journalism, while the rest have varied backgrounds (both academic and non-academic).

All my best to you Sanna

Lots more than 21 opportunities though!   You'll be there.     :-*

Do you need a couple of hundred references? ;;D

I agree with the above statement that luck will have very little to do with it so I am sending good JUJU instead.
