Mom just informed me that my neighbour & "grandfather" Risto passed away last night. :'(

I wrote about Risto and his health problems at this board earlier. Many of you sent your vibes & prayers for him, and he felt better for a while. But his heart was tired and he spend the past month pretty much at hospital and he got weaker by the day.

Risto was the sunshine at our street and one wonderful, kind and caring next door neighbour. He always had word or two to share and when he was in feeling better, he used to take long walks around Laajasalo, my home area.

Risto was from Viipuri, area which Finland lost to Russia long time ago. Risto was a patriotic man, who was an active member at Viipuri Association, a club for city's former residents. For a patriotic man like Risto, the best day to die was, indeed, Independence Day.

I promised to write a poem for his funeral, which will take place at December 21st.

I'm going to miss Risto, that is for sure.

Oh Sanna I'm so sorry,
This is a poem I read out along with a eulogy I wrote for my friend's mums funeral. I hope it helps you, it still helps me when I need a helping hand
