Title: A visit with Santa...
Post by Melissa on Dec 8th, 2007, 5:40pm
and each time he asked Eli what he wanted for Christmas, all Eli could say was "toys".  lol

Long day, was supposed to take Lily to Karate, then lunch with the kids then Santa and a little shopping.  Ended up in Urgent Care with Eli due to him having a very itchy rash all on his chest and belly.  It was caused by the kitty he was holding across the street for a few days this past week.  He's quite allergic so I gotta make sure he limits his time there or stock the Benedryl when he goes.

Fun, fun, fun!

Now tonight after Jesse & Lily get home from church, we're going to decorate the tree. ;;D

Hope everyone's weekend is going well!

Decorating the tree with Mum was always a big thing for my sister and me, loads of mess to be made and Mum tying us up with tinsel..... ;)

Toys are good, us boys never grow out of them, they just get more expensive ;)

Shedz- normally it is myself and the kids that do it, but beings I'm 6 months pregnant with a big belly, it gets kinda hard and I tire more easily now.  I'm going to take my time and am getting into the mood with all the holiday shows tonight on Food Network. ;;D

I did my tree tonight too with my overexcited 3 year old nephew. I'll try and get some pics up later on. Now time for bed!

I'm exhausted and I don't have the same excuse as you Mel!

Well, the tree is done.  I just did the garland and helped Jesse with the lights and the kids did the decorations.  It looks like someone threw up on it, but oh well. ;;D

Here's a pic of the kids decorating and the finished product...

Hey, Eli's getting a little bigger, but still looking like a Whoville resident standing next to the tree.  :)

Wow, you guys sure get your trees early!

Back in here we get a real Christmas tree and they are not selling them until next weekend. We're getting ours few days before Christmas Eve, around 21st, and let it melt a bit. I'm in charge of most decorations; mom just puts the lights on (that's the first thing).

When dad was still with us, the real tree was a must, but since his death we've had "real-plastic" battle each year. Mom cannot be serious about the plastic tree, though, because she would have bough one years ago behind my back if she would be. ;) I love the genuine scent of the real tree, so I hope that mom won't get that plastic one any year soon... :)

Luckily I get to go to the tree- picking trip. It's lots of fun to look at the trees and pick the best. Dad was an expert and I learned everything I know from him (most of my skills came with my genes ;)), so each year when I'm along, I make sure that the tree is tall enough, pretty and has branches all around. One year we got a tree as a gift and it didn't have any branches on one side and the family are still joking about that tree... :-X

Sanna, we have a small Christmas Tree farm on our 40 acres and that tree you see there was planted when I was pregnant with Lily. :)

We'll finally start selling them next year.  Yay!  More pitch in my hair! ;;D

Mel, your tree looks great! That is cool you have a Christmas tree farm, it would be really something if you had Reindeer there also. Mel's X-mas farm!! ;;D
