Title: Driving is bad for my head Post by sandie99 on Dec 11th, 2007, 7:07am Back in here one has to take part in 3 different teaching sessions to get a driver's licence. I've done the basic part, the dark/night time driving and today I begun the last part. It's been a while since I've been driving, so I was absolutely terrified! I managed to get the most stress out before the economical driving test begun, but I was still bit scared and tense. The test itself went nicely - in fact the teacher said that that my score was excellent. :) I'm happy about that. The test ended just in time, because a moment longer, I would have been in trouble: as soon as I left the driving school, I got hit. :( It must be a result of all the fear and tension... I have been lucky; I have been ch-wise PF over a month and I don't think that this will lead into another cycle. I have the second part of ice/slippery driving education left and that will take place tomorrow. PF days to all, Sanna |

Title: Re: Driving is bad for my head Post by pattik on Dec 11th, 2007, 9:03am Sanna, Good luck with the rest of your test. I know you'll do just fine. I wish we had more "slippery driving" education for our driving students here, since there is a lot of need for it. Again, good luck! Patti |

Title: Re: Driving is bad for my head Post by sandie99 on Dec 11th, 2007, 11:16am Thank you Barry & Patti! :) If the news are correct, then there's a chance that tomorrow this whole city will be a slippery/ice test rank, because it's supposed to be getting colder. Let's just see. The test begins at 12 and ends at 16.30, so it will be a long, long day. Sanna |

Title: Re: Driving is bad for my head Post by sandie99 on Dec 12th, 2007, 1:12pm Good one, Charlie. ;;D But you know what, I didn't "kill" even the crash test dummy during the test - I stopped waaay before it. And I came second at our "race"; I was the second quickest to stop when we drove 60 km/ph - and the winner had ABS brakes in his car, so really I won... ;) During the slippery rank, we drove at 2 different situations. The first part went just fine, but I felt shadows coming in the middle of the second part. During my wait I tried to find the caffeine tab I had with me, but I didn't find it until I had finished my part and waited for the others to finish at the parking lot. Then the shadows had turned into a hit. I tried to end it with snow - there were some next to the parking lot. It actually helped a bit, and I didn't care what the others thought; I'll never see them again. So, now it's done. Now all I need to do is to sit through 3 hours of driving theory and I'm done. Then my 2 year driver's licence will turn into a permanent one. :) Sanna |

Title: Re: Driving is bad for my head Post by artonio7 on Dec 12th, 2007, 1:18pm Sanna... good for you... I knew you could do it! The written exam will be a breeze for ya! way to go at using the snow to dump the beast! with warm regards, Tony |

Title: Re: Driving is bad for my head Post by sandie99 on Dec 12th, 2007, 2:22pm Tony, thank you. And as far as I know, there won't even be a test anymore; I did two of those (computer test and driving test) during the basic part. So, I'll just need to sit for 3 hours in a classroom and listen when one of the teachers will talk how we can drive safely and economically and protect the environment while we're at it. Piece of cake! ;;D Sanna |

Title: Re: Driving is bad for my head Post by barry_sword on Dec 12th, 2007, 5:32pm Way to go Sanna!!! [smiley=thumb.gif] So sorry you got hit but good call using the cold snow. I bet you made some of the others look when you did that, but hey, we do what we have to do, right? I walk around work sometimes with a frozen water bottle on my neck and do not think anything about it anymore, really don't care what others think! ;) Just wanted to say congrats to you!! :) |
