Title: Has anyone read a copy of their MRI, I am curious
Post by karrie35 on Mar 3rd, 2006, 5:25pm
Although the report reads "normal", there is one line that sounds alarming..It says "There is a small retention cyst in the floor of the left maxillary sinus. Otherwise, paranasal sinuses are clear."

Is this something that is usually detected in clusterheads? Help!

Karrie

Mine reads "inflammation of the virchow robin space". Whatever that means...... Doc said I was OK, though. Course, he was looking for a tumor or something, had no clue about CH, told me I had migraines.

Couldn't say for sure, but sounds like something more ENT related than neuro.  The left maxillary sinus is to the left of your nose but in between your left eye and your top teeth.

Do you have sinus pain?  Any history of sinus infections or sinus problems?  Have you been to an ENT?

My MRI shows a small possible cyst on the pituitary, nonspecific white matter lesions in the cortex, and some sinus uck.  On the whole, abnormally normal. ;)

Take care,
Carrie :)

Hmm.... I never saw my MRI results. Doc just said that there was nothing to worry about, that's all. I would have liked to see inside my head... ;)

They didn't find anything in mine.  The doc did say something about needing to get someone in to dust occassionally, though.  I don't know why he said that.  His office looked spotlessly clean to me?  ???   :-/

Did he blow in your ear Gator????

Since I do housecleaning Gator, I'll be right over to dust.

When I saw Dr. Lee Kudrow to get a diagnosis, even though I already knew I had CH,  he did a thermography.  He then showed me a pic of a normal brain and then of mine.  There was a definite differance in the colors in the center of the brain.  Mine had a LOT more yellow.

I know, I know.  That does not answer your question in the least.  :-/

Hey E-Double!  My MRI showed the same implant as yours did!  The doc told me that it was normal, but since he is a Martian (he doesn't know that I know) I knew that he was lying.  It is a device to read your mind and to enable the Martians to give you commands to do Martian things, but I learned from the other guy on my ward that wearing Saran-Wrap covered with aluminum foil (any kind of aluminum foil will do, but the plastic wrap MUST be Saran-Wrap) will block them from being able to read your mind and give you commands....they read this site, so don't tell anyone!  Time for my Haldol injection, see you later! :P

Linda - they did one of those on me (one of those doc's I went to). Mine was mostly red with a green spot in the middle. I kept telling them there was a little green monster in there that was causing all the trouble -- When I saw that green spot I yelled - "There that bastard is -- NOW do you believe ME!!!" Of course they had a different explanation, but I still think I'm right.

My god, damn Martians are everywhere!  Better hurry and get the aluminum foil and Saran Wrap!  Hypothalamus, shmypothalamus-it is the Martians that cause cluster headaches! :o

Does someone have that pic of Paco in his tin-foil-hat?

Barb, I'm not sure why our colors are different.  Maybe because I have this yellow streak.

Looking at my MRI……………..and by god I do have a brain………….or at lest it looks like one…...
And that was the part that was new to me …………… the report, Nothing out of the ordinary ……
The EEG (Electroencephalogram) was normal on PF test time, still need to do when hit by the beast, and that I hop will take a lifetime!
EEG: Monitors the brain's electrical activity by means of wires attached to the patient's scalp. These wires act like an antenna to record the brain's electrical activity.

Mine also mentioned a cyst in the left maxillary sinus cavity, and then else where is said a cyst in the right maxillary sinus cavity. [smiley=huh.gif] still can't believe that I'm still paying for that quack.

To the Martians, MRI means Multi Rectal Insertion!

I havent been able to get my dr to give me an MRI- however, my catscan report from ten years ago said something like:
"right something horn more narrow than left something horn"...dr said it was nothing to worry about.
Didnt even know that my brain had horns...
I have a new catscan scheduled tomorrow- wonder if I can fall asleep in there and give them some sort of show.

"Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your horns!(?)"  While I'm not an MD, I've never heard of "horns" showing up on a CT scan-why the hell won't your doc give you an MRI?  Maybe you should ask him and then find one who will if he still refuses (and also ask him about the horns!).  There appear to be some strange docs out there! :P

The horns are what my halo gets hung up on now and then.

:P

I almost didnt have the cat scan- my dr refused to authorize it- said he didnt see any justifiable reason for it. (he had a fill in dr the day I went, and that is who wrote the prescription for my catscan). My husband left a pretty stern message for him and the next thing I knew- everything was approved.

I dozed off in the waiting room for the Cat Scan- for about thirty minutes waiting. Sooooooo, since I get hit approximately 40 minutes after falling asleep, I was hit with a cluster about ten minutes later-while having the cat scan. I just kept praying for them to hurryhurryhurry because as we all know, sitting still is not an option. Just about the time the cat scan was over, I was in fullswing. The nurse took one look at my face, and my beautiful bulging red eye and said "Would you like a drink of water?" (to throw.....heh). Then she started on her pre-programmed speech on how to get the tape off my arm if it gave me trouble (from the IV) and I managed to cut her off with a "Got it- gotta go" and stumbled to the bathroom where I locked myself in the stall until the cluster attack was over.

My point here is that if it makes a difference to have an attack during the cat, mine should be good.(or bad, depending on how you look at it). There would have been absolutely no way I could have sat still for a MRI which takes longer...hopefully I gan get a referral to a neurologist now.

LOL Horns....  OK here's an anatomy lesson for the day ;)

Or maybe these horns: [smiley=sgrin.gif]

Think two different types of docs treat those two different types of horns though!  ;)  hehe
