Title: NYC Neurologist Post by Chronic on Apr 19th, 2006, 1:55pm Hello All, I was just hoping to get some help with a new doctor. My old one retired and pointed me to the Columbia Headache Center - Dr. Anne Remes. I've been to her a few times over the past year and a half and she seems quite knowledgable. However, it's just not working for me. She works 3 days a week and I can never get her to call me. When I run out of meds...or need to discuss changing doses, I don't hear anything for 3 - 4 days...all of which are full of Chronic clusters. I need a knowledgable Doctor, but not at the expense of personal service. As you all know, I can't go three days with non-stop clusters hoping to get a call. I need a call within the hour :). Anyway, anyone have suggestions in Manhattan? |

Title: Re: NYC Neurologist Post by Bob_Johnson on Apr 19th, 2006, 2:55pm 1. Search the OUCH site (button on left) for a list of recommended M.D.s. 2. Yellow Pages phone book: look for "Headache Clinics" in the M.D. section and look under "neurologist" where some docs will list speciality areas of practice. 3. Call your hospital/medical center. They often have an office to assist in finding a physician. You may have to ask for the social worker/patient advocate. 4. http://www.achenet.org/physicians/ On-line screen to find a physician. 5. http://www.headaches.org/consumer/index.html Call 1-800-643-5552; they will send a list of M.D.s for your state. |
