Querry: Were you _definitely_ diagnosed with a heart/angina/etc problem with a stress test, EKG, etc? Just wondering.....as I asked my Neuro about this very issue. His reply was that 99% of the time, unless previously diagnosed with "ticker" problems, the chest pain is usually due to esophogeal spasms, and not dangerous. The other 1% are S.O.L., and should stay away from triptans.......as well as alcohol, smoking, fats, strenuous exercise, TV sitcoms, bare feet and cheap sex.
Am not voting one way or another......just reporting, and wondering what you found out about your chest pains.

rj,
the way the doc explained it to me (in idiot terms) is that imitrex is a vascular constrictor but that includes the blood vessels to and from the heart. the constriction is the cause of the chest pain. i guess if you are in excellent shape the pain would be less. i was given an ekg, blood work and x-ray, the typical stuff and everything was normal (considering i smoke) and the doc ruled it as imitrex causing the vessels to constrict. my neuro called today and confirmed it and put me on some new drugs (does anyone else feel like a lab rat????).
-fingers crossed for a pain free night. --N

Its a difference between chestpain and heartattack.
Chestpain is a well known sideeffect of trex. After your body got used to the trex-shots the chestpain goes away in 85% of the cases the books says.
