Computer Monitor brings on a CH?

Hi,

My husband is currently in a bout of Cluster Headaches.  New this time, is that after about 10 seconds of looking at the computer monitor he can feel his head hurting.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Any ideas as to why it happens?  Any ideas you have would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and good health to you all.

I haven't heard of it happening to someone with CH, but the refresh rate of the monitor might be whats causing it. It happens with some epyleptics.
This is assuming you have a CRT monitor rather than a LCD flat panel monitor.

It may be just the bright light. On sunny days without my sunglasses I tend to get attacks more often. I turn my monitor brightness down as far as it will go.

PS. Just waiting to clarify the light issue is only when an attack begins & during the attack. Normally light doesn't bother me.

When I get an attack I have to go somewhere dark. I can't stand the light. But I can't say light has triggered an attack. However in the thread about the Washington Evening Journal printing an article about clusters recently the story mentioned that the doctor shone one of those penlights into his left eye and bam he had a major pain in his eye.Sounded wierd to me but it seems everybody symptoms are the same only different Huh with these friggin' headaches.

If it is a trigger for some, I am certainly glad it is not for me.  I spend 10 plus hours staring at a computer monitor Monday through Friday...  When I am having an attack, I do have a sensitivity to light and staring at a brightly lit monitor in a dimly lit room can be painful.
