Title: me and my shadow
Post by Brassbear on Dec 29th, 2002, 1:12pm
ok guys, what's going on?

shadows are remaining constant anywhere from a 3 - 5 Kip, but so far the demon and his chainsaw band has not been showing up for their regular engagements and slicing the left side of my brain into gray matter debris. I've got most of the symptoms present, but not the monster pain. knock on wood.

it doesn't help that I've got some sinus problems going on at the same time. This would refer back to this year's Christmas war story.

any ideas?

Michael

Michael, My cycle started with 3 weeks of shadows and then BAM!  Hope it is not a preview for you also. Maybe you will be lucky and it will just phase away.
PFDAN's to you,

Hey Jonny, I got a  bright idea, why don't I just shut the fuck up, quit whinning and get on with life? LOL!

The beast came back, just not as his usual appointed rounds. He showed up in full battle gear with all his weapons at the ready. I think this was the worst one yet.

Ah well, what's next?

I had my shadow for 3-4 weeks (the beast showed up after my xmas party....where i got totally trashed and smoked 4 cigs for the first time in 2-1/2 yrs).

i feel like such an ass....here i thought i was clenching/grinding my teeth at night (my CH's run from my earline across my jawline making it feel like 4-5 teeth need pulling) and it was shadows all along...

sorry michael

OUCH Robin, that's gotta hurt!

My shadows start with a feeling that someone tapped me in the left temple with an aluminum baseball bat. Then the real fun begins.

jonny, went through the "teef" thing myself in 94. Can't believe I paid a man to hurt me that bad!

the problem with getting older is that nothin works right and it all hurts. Oh well, it reminds us we're still alive!

Hi Michael,

I believe I read somewhere where you just began your dance again :'(

I had a relatively good day yesterday.  This a.m. I woke at 4:00 a.m. "wrestling the beast".  I took a few motrins and paced the house.  At 7 I went back to bed.  I got up at 8:15, feeling rather groggy and hurried as I rushed off to meet my new doctor.

I have been having a good day, so far (with shadows only at a level 1-2)

Just as I feared, she didn't understand.  She looked up old records, saw they gave me prednisone 6 yrs ago and prescribed the thing.

The plus is that I found 2 recommended dr's (on OUCH) in the philadelphia area.  If I need more than prednisone, I am headed that way.

The biggest plus is that I found Kimmy, a woman like myself who is affected in the teeth/jawline area.  We have a lot of notes to compare.

I want to wish you, yours and everyone on this sight a Happy New Year and as many PF days, ahead, as possible.

Talk to you soon :)

wish i had an answer for ya, the only time my meds work is when it's gonna be full blown, can't figure it out, but after a day of shadow's (especially at work) don't even look at me the wrong way, i'll snap.                                                                                                                                                                                                    .........2late

2late, thanks for the words bro.

I seem to be in a weird cycle. I started with almost a week of shadows before I got the first CH. A shadow of 3 - 4 Kip constantly became pretty normal for a couple of weeks. There were several days that I got hit at the beast's appointed times, then a couple of PFDs. Then the beast just came out of the blue and beat the crap out of me. Now I'm doing the shadow thing again but at a lower Kip level.

BobG is right. Never relax. Never let down your guard. Stay stressed.

Hey, is that a photo of your 'putt? Mary and I use to ride. We sold our last chopper in 1987. The "Widow Maker". She was a 650 BSA Lightning with twim Amal carbs. We had her stroked and bored to 750, TT pipes, hardtail, Harley rear end, coffin tank, king/queen seat, 12 over glide tubes, drag bars and a 45 degree rake! YEEHAW!

Famous red neck last words; "Hey Ya'll! Watch this!"

Cat, that there would be "biker lingo". We use to call custom motorcylces 'putts, scoots, scooter, chops, choppers, etc.

Like some of the other folks here, my riding days are over. The doc said my kidney stones and riding motorcycles were not a good mix. Ah well, life goes on!

2Late: yeah, 45 degree rake and 12" over tubes. Why do you think we called it "Widow Maker"? Actually it was the hardtail that disagreed with my kidneys.

I've been "down" twice. Once in Portsmouth VA and once in North Chicago IL. Got run off the road by a car both times, on purpose.

Hey guys, hopefully I'm nearing the end of this cycle. I had a real good day yesterday with most of the shadow between 1 - 2 until evening time when I usually get hit the hardest. Today isn't too bad and for the most part the symptoms are gone. I'm still getting hit with "ice picks" = sharp pain which only last a couple of seconds where I normally have the clusters.

Trying to get in touch with my doctor or who ever is filling in for him today. Wish me luck.

Michael
