Ted asked me to post here and say for him that he will not be coming back online. He says he is fine... but that is about all.

Just to further clarify and to STOP any rumours that will ultimately circulate, Ted's computer crashed. His car also needs repair. Priorities are priorities, gang.

I'm sure (well, ok, I'm more hoping than sure), that Ted will come back when he can.

Pep try not to make it sound so mysterious geesh... and when ya got GREMLINS more than one thing goes wrong at once...His car broke down... We talked at great lenght before the puter crashed and he told me about his MAJOR car troubles... How could he stay away from his family... NEVER... LOVE YOU ALL REE

Svenn, no mystery -- BobP guessed both the correct reasons -- but feel free to bandy the rumors about. Won't be the first time it's happened.

Rev and Elaine (and Domm, since I got your message too) thanks for the offers. Maybe I'll take you up on it, but for now at least I'm taking the hidden blessing of a fried motherboard (It wasn't the power supply, I had that checked out) and no computer and breaking the online habit. Kind of freeing, in a way. I guess my next step is either taking one of you up on your offers or canceling my AOL account. I guess I flip-flop a lot in my mind on which path I'll be taking.

Oh yeah, this wasn't supposed to be one of the many "I'm leaving CH.com and never coming back" threads. If I decide to get my computer taken care of I wouldn't stop coming here, even though everyone but me here is a schmuck or schmuckette. I really just wanted people to know why I wouldn't be answering their e-mails. But, when I told Pepper to make the post for me I was drunk as a skunk (and for those of you who never got a skunk drunk, you really have to try it) and was pretty vague to her, I guess.

Ted...or whomever can spank...oops...I mean talk ta Ted......this may be an outragious idea but when my pooter got fried not long ago I went ta Rent a Center and leased a dam pooter for a few months till I got my sheeit tagether ta figur out what I was gonna do....I had adds online fer my small kennel business and had ta keep up with dat and replys with pups....it really solved my problem and worked fer me great....they even hooked the dam thing up....all I rented was simple net brouser one. Just a thought.....Pam :)

Actually, Ted has a hard time getting through. He's a "guest" of Homeland Security and the prison library computer is available to him only 30 minutes a day. :o

It turns out his puter performed one too many "Illegal Operations." ::)

I re-co ed a VW when I was broke. (and bored) Got a manual and read it, looked at the pix and started slowly. Got a mate to help me lift it out and put it back in when I'd finished. Yes, I was young and stupid then, but the bloody thing went for several years and when it died, it wasn't the motor! VWs are easy tho - modern cars need a computer tech as well as a mechanic! Let us know tho' if we can help with the car. You just gotta have a going one!
