That's usually the way it works out Prez.!!!!

Just pick a spot that you think works best and if anyone cries foul just tell them to go cry on Dorkangle's shoulder.

BTW - where is dork?

I vote for upstate NY or Nashville.  I prefer NY if drummer will let me stay in his spare room.  How far of a drive is it from upstate NY to DC and on to Paco's house??

I'm cornfooosed!   Didn't I read in an earlier post Cat just begging to host it?  I offered to host in Malibu, but it seems that the Northeast is due for a convention.

Just give to Cat and be done with it!   :D


By the way... if it's held anywhere near Buffalo or Albany, Slammy probably won't be able to attend... much too close to Canada for him...  ;D

Bob, I will let you know the exact mileage and time from upstate to DC after Feb 3 when I go to Walter Reed.

I think it's about an 8 hour trip not sure though.

Actually here is my preference:

Paco's house (but he withdrew his offer)
Upstate NY
Milwaukee
Nashville
NYC
Malibu (nothing there but naked girls)

So there's my vote (guess I should add it to the OUCH BB just to make it official.

I'd like it to be somewhere east, Bostonish perhaps... So I can try and get there too this time. Crossing the Atlantic is one thing, but add crossing the US, and the cost becomes prohibitive. For me, as a poor working girl  that is (No, not of THAT variety... lol)

My 2nd choice was malibu :P  Have family that way.

Why for can't you be close to Canada?  Albany isn't anywhere near the border.  4 hours at least.  Buffalo is 4 hours the other way from me and right on the border.
Alexandria Bay, the location proposed, you can see Canada from the resort :P

What is it about Canada that scares you?  Certainly it can't be us Canadian women  ;D

This silly wabbit here thought that Jayne from here in TN was going to check on having the convention here in Nashville  ???  Im soooooo confused. Like that is any thing new! LOL   ;D  But for what its worth *hand up in the air* I vote for Nashville. Its a COOL place and LOTS to do and see. Just ask Jonny cuz we all know if Jonny likes it then "IT ROCKS"!   ;D  I see "moons" over Nashville Bro with BBB's to go with it!! LOL   ;)

Zoo
Tour Milwaukee's famous Brewaries.  Free beer testing.
See the Lake and hang out on the waterfront.
lots of Malls
tour Harley Davidson plant
lots of museums, galleries, etc.
I am sure Liz could give more ideas of fun things to do.

The Harley birthday is what scares me.  Those Harley dudes do nothing but rape, pillage and plunder.  And they smell bad too.

Really, if we had the convention there, any time near the birthday party, lodging would be a nightmare!

I vote for any place that isn't totally humid in the summer!  It's not good for my curls!   >:(

Because after all, it's all about me and having good hair days!   ;D

Welp, one of the things I was hoping to do, was go to the military travel office and discuss with them discount airfares for group travellers.  The only problem will be selecting an airline.  Northwest is the one that lives at Syracuse, so it would probably be with them.  I have some friends in the travel business, so I'm going to pull in some favo(u)rs and see what I can do.  No guarantees, as I think you have to guarantee 50 seats to get a group discount.  But I will see what I can do.

Just one of the things I was thinking of doing if the Northeast wins the convention.

Ummm okay so it took me a few days and I'm real slow, but after rereading the thread I finally figured out what don meant by tomorrow.

So can anybody tell us when the decision will be made?
If the northeast gets selected I'm looking at the weekend of August 8-10.  Just so ya know.

The northeast seems to be the spot for conventions this year.....Boston, New York. Since it was out west last year. Most, or at least some of us can't afford to travel too far.

Cool, Linda - so you're a bridesmaid, too?  Lavender works for me, too...but no hats though, ok?  I hate hat-head.  

Jonny is best man, so I wonder who is going to be the usher?  Hub?  Jackie Boyd?  Drummer?  hmm... could be scary.   :o

I bet DJ and Jonny will throw Den a pretty memorable stag, like they practiced in Vancouver.  ;)  

Who gets to do Jonny's hair though?  I hear Ree's a pretty good lil hairdresser.

Malibu works for me... 30 minute drive. The convention needs to be between May-August if you want to see the naked girls.
