Title: CH Quilt Fundraiser
Post by juvy on Oct 6th, 2003, 2:15am
Okay guys/gals,

It's quilting time.  A few months ago some of you may remember that I suggested that each of you send in a piece of fabric that you like with your name (real and handle) how long you've had CH and general location.  If you're a supporter do the same except for how long have you had CH would become how long have you been supporting us sufferers.

Well here is the addy so start sending them in so I can start quilting.

For the US:
April Brown
3130 GoForth Rd.
Kyle, Texas, 78640 USA

The fabric piece should be no smaller than 5x5 (inches).  As soon as the quilt is finished, it will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to OUCH.

Cheers,
Juvy

My favorite fabric is my OUCH t shirts.

There s no way ya getting one of them till they are faded and ripped/torn stained.

But ill find something thats just as good.

Id like to thank u 4 ya efforts (before ya even start) enjoy.

What an absolutely perfect idea. I can’t imagine a better keepsake/time capsule. Excellent work! Can you use a donation to help with the materials?

Rock on,

David,

Since you guys/gals will be sending in the fabric, the only thing i will pay for is the thread and stuffing which i have an abundance of in my house.  Thanks for the offer though.

Juvy,

Just a suggestion, but how about if everyone sent you in a quilt square with their name and date in fabric paint on each one?

You don't need to do this, but it was just a thought.

:)mel

edited to add-  Or, they could even iron on a picture instead?

Mel,

I'm planning on embroidering the information on each square, give it more of a homey touch and doesn't take very long.  As to a picture it would be really small but if they wish to send it that way, that's great :)

Thanks for bumping this back up to the top.....I've not mailed my stuff yet.  I'm going to do it soon, but thought that I would see if there are any others out there that needs a square of fabric.  I have a sewing room full of fabric and will be glad to furnish the squares for anyone that needs one.  Just e-mail me your other info and I'll cut a square for you, attach your info to it and send it along with mine.  Since they need to be there by 21st of Nov. I'll give everyone that's interested a week to get your info to me.  Then I'll bundle it all up and send it to KYLE, TX.  Sure do wish that I could deliver it in person, but afraid that I can't right now.  Perhaps soon though.

This is a great idea & will be a very special FRIENDSHIP QUILT to the lucky CH that gets it.

Just let me know....

Okay everyone,

Don't make me come after you personally.  I have so far only received 3 pieces of fabric.  Now that makes 4 including my own.

This is going to be a very small quilt unless you guys/gals participate.  So if you havn't already done so, send in your fabric now.

If you can not get a hold of any fabric, please send your details to me and I'll grab a swatch out of my fabric bin.

Cheers,
Juvy

Feel free to procrastinate for as long as you want.  I just can't guarantee your fabric will make it into the quilt.
*grin*  You can always just send your information and I'll grab a square from my stash.  I'll take pictures of the different pieces I have and you can choose one. (just cuz you work so hard).  Any others will get what I give them  ;)
