Title: ch in the Ottawa sun (news paper)
Post by grumpett on Dec 8th, 2003, 6:23pm
I did not know how to put this artical to a Dr. in this insert. But if you can some how read the Ottawa sun Monday Dec 8,2003., there is a Dr from New York who needs to be informed about ch. and one viewer is asking for a retraction.....(under lifestyles)
If someone can some how put his name and address up I think we should set him straight.

 Can you help me out?

I couldn't find the article but I did find this in the health section;

Then there's the cluster headache, which, just as the name implies, typically occurs in "clusters" ranging from two attacks a week to several a day. Episodes usually last for six to eight weeks or sometimes longer. Unlike tension headaches, stress isn't a triggering factor. For some unknown reason, they affect more men than women.

They got it right!

Except mabe the male/female thing but Canadian females dont get CH anyway.

Don... You KNOW that's not true.  Any Canadian can have CH.  With the exchange rate, I think they are only about 1/8 as painful though.

;;D

We Canucks get clusters because of the humour leaking over the border [smiley=laugh.gif]. However in the last 4 or 5 months our dollar has gone from 62¢ Am. to almost 77¢ Am. :o.    My[smiley=twocents.gif]Cdn.

Dr. Gott? Doctor?

Doctor of what? He's plainly full of crap.

I think it just shows how ill-informed the doctors are.  I think his heart is in the right place but his education on the subject is not much more than anecdotal.

I'm pretty sure Dr. Gott has been quoted here before and not too long ago. Forgot the article.

We never get a break

In response to the retraction request, he shoulda just bent over, dropped his drawers  [smiley=moonwiggle.gif] and had them snap a pic...the effect would have been the same and with fewer words.

If he calls a premonition a few minutes warning OK but how the hell is ibuprofin going to work in five min and abort a CH.  And CH is not vascular i know this dr is bussy but if someone chalanges him he should reresearch his position. has anyone wrote the editor of the paper for a retraction?  this guy obviously wont, lets go over his head! :)
