The lady from St. Joseph, MO has her article on the web.  Sorry Don, looks like you lost your job.

just a little something for Ms Zielinski:

Quote:
Dear Ms. Zielinski:

I applaud your article in ... www.stjoenews-press.com .... this is the kind of exposure we (clusterheads) are looking for and are actively trying to bring to the attention of neurologists, general practicioners (who are in the FrontLines) and pharmacy companies who may, hopefully, provide a medicine that will help us...

There are a few inaccuracies in your article, but you have done a very good job of  presenting *our* case...

Mr. Hoyt, your *contact/cluster-headache-sufferer* has accurately described the *Beast*... the headache that invades our lives...leaves us exhausted...frightens our wives and children... and is dismissed by most people as a *headache*....

well... it IS a headache, but until YOU have one... there are NO words....

many people have tried to describe it, and some have come close... "an exquisite pain"... "worse than child-birth"... "a thing that has robbed me of my life"....

but we suffer such a "rare" affliction, that there is nothing to be gained financially by the drug companies to explore a palliative or, hopefully, a cure to this thief of our lives....

I am an *episodic* sufferer ( 4-8 weeks/year) and some suffer EveryDamnDay (chronics)... their courage is beyond my ken....

thank you for bringing this to the attention of your readers.... i sincerely hope that the *word* gets out to a wider audience....

Steve Lichens... newly-elected Vice President of OUCH (Organization for Understanding Cluster Headaches)

...and Don Young is the President....Bob Pahlow is taking a break.....heh!

Actually, I'm impressed too.

I didn't realize that the Bylaws Committee had gained enough power to change Presidents! Sorry to hear it Don……… ;)

By and large I thought it was a well written piece by someone who has never suffered with a cluster.  I posted a note of appreciation.  Sorry you lost the election Don.  I did vote for you ;;D, but I had hopes I could borrow the yacht.

It appears to me that she took some info from the ACHE site.  I'd bet that's where she got the low figure of 85%.

I'll confess to you guys.  It was just last month that I realized the auto e-mail that is sent to each new member by the srever was signed, Bob P, President.
