He's having a BAD time

can some one post the tip about dramamine for him please. He's really getting slammed BAD.
I have never done the drammamine trick so please post a refresher so he can get ready for tonight and hopefully get some rest.

I think you just need to take it before bedtime. It prevents you from going into REM sleep which is when the beast normally comes to play.  I havent tried it as yet myself but heard it has good results for some.

Feel better Brian, hope you have a pf night,
Suzy

Brian,

Sorry you are having a bad time right now.

There really isn't a tip to taking the dramamine, just take two before bed.  I think Benadryl will do the same, but I've never used it.  If you get a breakthrough with two dramamine, take three the next night.  It will let you sleep through the night, the only problem is, that it's not REM sleep, so you don't get the real rest you need.......but, it's still better than getting slammed every hour.

PFDAN,
Tracey

Well, I am not sure what to say.

Thank you.

I'll give this a try.

Hope it works for you....

Brian...
Sorry you're having a rough time... >:(

I don't know what abort meds. you have...
Blake has taken a Zomig at bedtime (during the really bad times when he knows he's gonna get hit).  It holds him for up to 8 hours usually.
The Dramamine has worked for him too....

Good Luck,

Thanks again, y'all.  I'll try these things.

This is a first for me, I suppose.  I never discuss my own suffering.  Maybe a lesson will be learned.  I dunno.

I felt quite certain I was strong enough.  We shall see...

Brian

The Zomig (or Imigran) pill as a short term preventive has worked for me sometimes too, just to buy a few hours pain free sleep.

Worth a try

any tricks we can teach Brian right now will help him, as by what he has been telling me, the beast has been an unrelenting bastard to him!!!!

Ok what Dave does also if you have some is to pop an Imatrex pill before he falls asleep because by the time the pill takes effect if he is about to get hit it lessens the severity of the attack... I know you arent supposed to use it as a preventative but it worked for Dave... God Bless you Brian Y and Jayne you are such a great supporter......love ree

Brian,

Pain Free Vibes Coming Your Way !!

Hope it works for you. You can also try an Amerge tablet. Works about the same as an Imitrex tablet for me. As REE said, it's not suppose to be a preventive, but it works for me most of the time if I take one before falling asleep.

Another trick that may help is to sleep in the La-Z-Boy. Or in bed with the head elevated. Won't stop an attack from coming on but may help a little.

Brian......I agree with Bob about sleeping in a somewhat upright position.  I slept for 3 weeks on the sofa, with lots of pillows.  It was more of a reclined position.  Seems when I went to bed and in the horizontal position, I was more susceptible to a really bad hit.  Just one of those things that seemed to work for me.

Hope you get some relief, sweetie.

PF vibes,

Jean

Thanks, y'all.  I do not know what to say.  I AM touched.  And that is difficult for me.   :)

Last night was VERY bad.  5 KIP 7+'s visited me.  I think I had around 1 1/2 hours of sleep.  This visit from Le Beast does not like REM sleep evidently.

...sigh...

If I can stay sane, I'll be OK.

P.S.  Dan--I am NOT old...

I know, I know.  You see, we are not an affectionate people.  Our idea of affection is getting someone a whiskey sour without asking.   ;;D

You know, last night, my father hugged me when I saw him.  He was concerned about me and what I am going through.

All right, which one of you took my Daddy and what the fuck did you do with him?

Did someone break one of the seven seals of the apocaplypse?

I asked him if he was OK.  He smiled back at me and said "Of course.  Let's go get a drink".  Well, none for me, but it is strange.

And of course, I did not tell him I was nearing the end of my rope, which I am.  His reaction may have been different had he known that.

I don't like the sound of that Brian.   I hope you can comprehend in the middle of this incredible lack of sleep that there is a lot more rope being handed to you right here.

Problem solved!!!  It's the bow tie.   [smiley=laugh.gif]

Be well yourself, Tom.  I am hitting O2 like a madman right now.  I love the inert gases.  Is it inert?  I fergit.

I wonder if CHs can destroy brain cells.  Mine are certainly depleted if so.  I am in hell.

Bee Why--(BY)--We are in this hell together. I've never tried O2 but am looking for a supplier today. I have re-breather masks @ home and I got an Rx from my new Neuro last week.

Main Entry: noble gas
Function: noun
Date: 1902
: any of a group of rare gases that include helium, neon, argon, krypton, xenon, and sometimes radon and that exhibit great stability and extremely low reaction rates -- called also inert gas .

O2 is NOT inert. Chem lesson 101.

Hang in there Brian. I know you don't see it know, but there will be some good days coming. Everytime I get hit really hard, I think the same. Eventually you will get some good days and you will feel better. IT SUCKS, but you can survive this. As you see from all the post we all work together here to get through the hard times. B dawg,

Sorry to hear your still getting hit.  Hopefully you've found some relief since the last post on this thread.

I know how much you love vibes, so I'll send a couple your way as well ;).  Hang in there, we've got a golf date, remember?

I've mentioned in the past how fortunate I've been with CH, having cycles that last only a month or so with 1-2 HA per day.  The best thing that's worked for me so far are the trex nasal sprays.  These sprays have nipped a couple of HA's in the bud for me.  I've not gotten to the trex injections or o2 yet, so I can't comment on those.

Whatever works my friend, you do it.  I was bashed some time ago for mentioning darvocet helped dull the pain.  But when your hurting, anything that will take the pain away and give you a couple hours of relief is worth it.

I was a little surprized to see this much emotion coming from you, with you being the literary genius I've come to know.  Nice to know you have a emotional side.  Loosen the knots on those Ben Silver bow ties and you'll be okay.  ;;D

It's golfin weather right now in Orlando, any chance of you bringing the family down for a Disney visit any time soon?

Andy
