Title: Who Would Have Thought...
Post by Please_Mr_Cluster on Dec 21st, 2003, 10:12am
I'm a 57 (male) and four weeks ago I started getting what I now know are CH's.   :(     Not nearly as bad as some of you, but very painful.  I've done some research and I believe it's very rare for somone my age to start getting CH's. It seems most of you started getting them much earlier.   Anyone have an opinion? I have read many of the posts and emails and find this place to be a blessing.   ;)
It does help knowing you are not alone.

Welcome to a very wonderful family that is there when you need them and even when you don't need them and more.  There are always open ears here.

I'm sorry you are part of the family now but you are at the right place for understanding, opinions and support.

Welcome aboard Ghost :). I was a little older when I was first hit has well(42). What you will find after a while is that everybodies clusters are the same - only different. We do share one thing in common though and that's this site. You'll find lots of  nice people and tons of support here 8).

I may be wrong but I believe Charlie got his first hit while shoeing Paul Reveres horse and he was around 50 then.

Welcome to Clusterville, sorry you have to be here but glad you found us!  This is the most informative and supportive website out there IMHO!  Personally I started my CH's about age 20 or so.  But wasn't diagnosed till almost 2 yrs ago.  Like Mac said all our clusters are the same in a different kind of way :-/

There was one guy who posted a couple of years ago who was in his 70s, when he first got hit. I was 19 the first time, so its only been a few years for me. Charlie's been around since who flung the chunk though.
Welcome to the maelstrom.

It took 228 years to figure out that it wasn't getting kicked my the damn horse that caused them. Not the brightest bulb on the string here.

Welcome aboard Ghost. I'm 57 too and got mine when I was 23. They went away after 22 years and I've been free of this horror since 1991.

There are others that develop CH in what we call our senior years but it's not common. There is some iffy evidence that age can help end the things. Damn sorry this has gone the other way.

Here is my link to a technique that worked well for me:

Good luck and let us know how you're doing.

Thanks to all of you for your understanding and comfort.  I think I have good news, but I'm not sure.  I called Jeff Hall a member of Clusterheads and he said my symptoms were similiar but not CH's.  I have the knife like moderate to severe pain on one side of my head, behind the eye, and the watering, but I'm able to sleep at night.  Also, the pain has shifted from my right eye to my left.  Jeff said I should pray that it's anything but CH's.  I am planning on going to a headache specialist.  I will keep in touch with this site regardless of what type I have.

Welcome Ghost,

Charlie is an old coot (he says 57 , he just left out the 18 that goes before it ;;D) but, he's a good man just the same (even if he is a compulsive liar  ;)).

Stick around, There is much love to be had here, good thick skin is also helpfull from time to time.
