hi

i'm new and posting here to see what's  blowing in the wind

i have typical history of clusters...20 years of them with no answer ...up to 8 a day...then 10 years ago ...remission..
pain free   ...lol...i did it , i got rid of them, what  a miracle...

well they came back 2 weeks ago with a vengeance....

up to 8 a day again.........

so  eventually , off to doctor with no, really , no hope of any help.

but, this doctor knew nothing about clusters, so he did  a little research and came up with  relpax..copyright..etc
amazing, i take  1 pill a day and  clusters are pushed into  1 per 24 hour cycle and if i  preempt it by taking a pill before i
get the cluster i have no headache at all that cycle...

i found u guys cause i was looking for info on other users to see what the long range effects and  conditions to taking this  would be.but i have not seen a mention of it so far on this site

so, help me out here, am i living in fool's paradice, smile,
or this is just so new , or maybe  bad things happen..

this drug is a vasoconstrictor and serotonin antagonist
is there something else i neeeed to know here?

sincerely  chuck

Yes, I have seen relpacx mentioned here. If yiou want to know, use the search facility (and set the time restriction between 0 and 150 days, gives yiou all last quarter.

BTW, if you are episodic, and you very well might be, seeing  you have been painfree for so long, you may not need to take this med continuously.

If you feel the episode has run its course you could stop the med. Taking it outside an episode is useless, for it though it may prevent attacks, it will not prevent an episode.

Relpax is a brand name for Eletriptan

What is eletriptan?
Eletriptan is a migraine headache medicine. It is in a class of drugs called serotonin receptor agonists. They are believed to work by causing vasoconstriction (narrowing) of arteries and veins that supply blood to the head.
Eletriptan is used to treat migraine headaches. Eletriptan will not prevent migraines from occurring or decrease the number of attacks. It will only treat a migraine headache that is already occurring.
Eletriptan may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.
