I was told that tending to sleep in an upright position keeps you PF. Well I tried it last nite and it worked...anyone else hear this or try this? Works..doesnt work?

When in cycle it helped a little only because I did not hit REM as aften. Leaving the TV on and sleeping propped up on the couch for a month helped reduce the numer of early night hits.

Did nothing for the day time beastly visits.

you mean some of y'all can sleep laying down?????  Every time D lays down  . . .he gets hit . . .so sitting up is best (still wakes up bad, and actually only dozes, but it's better than nothing).

Over the last 30 years I've spent many nights sleeping in the La-Z-Boy. Doesn't stop or prevent the pain but it seems to wake me sooner (at  lower kip) and the battle can start earlier.

Yeah whenever I'm in a cycle it seems as if laying down makes the blood pool into my head and face. Either I try to hold off on going to bed or if I have to sleep I sleep propped up (and do not lay my head to either side.)

This definitely worked for me.   I slept propped up on the sofa for 4 or 5 weeks.   It kept me from reaching the REM phase.

When I did go back to sleeping in the bed, instead of using one pillow for sleeping...I started using two.

Kinda funny how simple things can help out with CH.

I've slept in my recliner now for over 2 years, and i don't think i can sleep lying down anymore.  I'm chronic, and ever since i started getting hit so many times a day, and night, i just feel like i'm going to get hit at anytime if i try to lie down at all.

I don't even try.  Can't even think of putting my head down whether in a recliner or in a bed before I'm done with them for the night, hence the time I spend on this board.  But hey, if it works, don't knock it!

I sleep upright in a LazyBoy since I snore like a banshee when on a flat bed.  Preserved the marriage, plus I need about 3-fewer hours of sleep per night and I feel 100% better in the AM.

Still get the episodes and the pain... no real diff for me.
That said, laying down during an HA sure does blow... the pulsing is worse.

I'd like to try falling asleep in an inclined massage chair with the face pads. Somehow I think it might work.

The recliner allowed me to have one less attack a night most of the time. Extra pillows in bed were less successful. Too easy to toss around.

I like the massage chair idea too-  I need to have my head foreward of my trunk, so I actually prop pillows on my lap and lean forward in a wing chair.  Can not lean back at all.  Thank goodness for little things we can do to help!

last nite i got 6 HAS. I sat up and let them leave on their own within 15 minutes.  No O2. Every time i woke up with a HA I was on my side.
So for some attacks it seems to work for me.
