Title: HELP  PLEASE
Post by no-one on Feb 21st, 2004, 9:26am
Hi,

I was wondering if  everyone takes something to help them sleep throught the night. I haven't slept more that 4 hours (and thats with waking up at least once during that time) a night in about 4 months, and I am so tired that I am having a hard time getting through the day. Right now I take 9 mgs of melatontin and B complex at night. Anyone have any other ideas??

Thanks

I haven't been successful with that either no-one, I've tried sleeping with a brand new 02 bottle on till it ran out, obviously you have to have the whole exposed. Sometimes I will get a few more hours of peace.

Usually I keep the o2 and Trex next to the bed and beat him with it instantly when I wake up going OMG.

Let me no if you find something that works successfully for you

Best of Luck ............ Sean

Hi No-one,
Welcome to the family.
Some people take Benydril or Dramamine.
Those tend to keep people from going into REM sleep so that you might get a little more sleep before ya wake up with the beast.
Sorry you are having such a hard time,
I got PF vibes going up to ya!

Just a warning,

don't keep the O2 bottle going while your mask is strapped on. This would dry out your muceous membrane and so seriously damage your lungs.

Most of us have cut the elastic on the mask long ago.

Sean,

I am sorry to see that you arn't getting any sleep either.
I'll let you know if I find something that works.

Mast,

I will have to try some benydril tonight, all though benydril   doesn't make me sleepy. But I will try anything  at this point.

Ave,

Thanks for the warning about the O2

I hope you all get a good night's sleep.

The Dramamine or Benydril is not to "make" you sleep. It is to keep you from going into the REM, rapid eye movement, phase.

You might also try sleeping with your head elevated a few inches higher than your body. I've spent many nights sleeping in the La-Z-Boy. Doesn't stop the attacks but it does seem to lessen them.

Like Bob said try sleeping as upright as possible.  I spend most nights proped up on the sofa with the O2 bottle right next to me.  At least when the beast does wake me up I can fight him off with the O2 and hopefully fall back asleep.  If I could I would sleep standing up.

When in cycle I take nothing to help me sleep, I avoid sleep like the plaque.

I'm doin pretty good No-One,
Getting hit once a nite right at REM time, verap seems to keep them from increasing in numbers, and one little shot of Imitrex and I'm good to go.

Hope you have a nite FULL of sleep and a great day tomorrow
