Title: End of Cycle - Melatonin Question
Post by Valerie on Oct 26th, 2004, 12:46pm
I am finally at the end of my cycle ( hopefully not jinxing myself).  I have been taking 6mg of melatonin for the past 8 weeks.  I've noticed the past few mornings I have been EXTREMELY groggy, like I could not wake up.  Sunday morning my kids were trying to get me up and I gave them a bag of potato chips and turned on the cartoons so I could go back to sleep (lucky day for them).  I am usually a morning person so this is really weird for me.  I guess since my cycle is ending my body is making melatonin again so now I'm getting too much.  Last night I took 3mg and tonight I'm not going to take any.  I've been getting mild shadows, but no ha since last Monday.  I'm also tapering off the verapamil and I'm down to 80mg.  Has this happened to anyone else?  Just curious ::)

Come on Jonny, give me a smartass comment - I'm not feelin the love  :-*

One cycle I came off melatonin pretty quickly.  Another cycle came 3 weeks later .  This never happened to me before or since (I usually get at least 3 months off).  I'm not sure if it was just a coincidence, but since then I have been careful about tapering off melatonin more slowly.

I wouldn't rock the boat too much with the verapamil taper until you're firmly out of the cycle.  Just my opinion.
