Title: Speaking of smoking
Post by Sophie on Oct 31st, 2004, 1:57am
I ran across a web site, while serching for melatonin info.
If I read it right, it said smoking marijuana increased melatonin in your body.
If this is true why wouldn't pot help a CH. I always consider it a trigger. Any opinions?
Wish I understood the seratonin and melatonin stuff---but it's over my head.

No opinion except that Pot won't help with CH. May help you deal with CH ... but thats it.

Can't answer your question about why it won't help. Almost every message I've seen here says it won't help and is a trigger for most clusterheads.  [smiley=huh.gif]

Weed isn't a trigger for me that's for sure... It helps me relaxing... so to deal with CH... and to be honest I enjoy it... 8)

Anyway since alcool was a trigger for me and most clusterhead and because weed didn't trigger anything... I had no choice... I don't want to leave (and live) sinless... ;)

Nobody loves the bud more than myself.  Many as much as but none "more".  Anyway,I entered this cluster 3 weeks ago and I'm dying to burn down.  Weed is a major trigger for me.  Not quite as bad as alcohol but bad.  Beast comes appx 2 hrs after taking part. :'(

I totaly understand the need to relax and enjoy "one" favorite pastime-----wonder about the vaporiser that I read about on that same web site. I feel it's a trigger for me also, but was hoping maybe it was just a coincidence. Guess, I still don't understand if THC produces seratonin and melatonin in the body---and smoking constricts vessels----why would this trigger??
And why wouldn't it help???
There is no such thing as a dumb question---just ask me!   Sophie

From the major smokers, I have heard the vaporizer is a piece of crap.  I don't indulge much anymore myself, but I have found it to be a great sleep inducer

I was trying to send the web site referred to above---so you could just click on it, but I'm not having much luck.
Anyway it is
  http://smokedot.org/story/2003/3/13/20596/8800

smokedot.org  would work  (i think) but the page about melatonin and marijuana is on the long address

There are a couple other links I ran into----I'll try and find them and send soon---I think this site lead me to them.  I have them in my favorite places---but can't get them transfer to this. Duh!     Sophie

http://www.overgrow.com/edge/showthread/t-519529.html    if you read unregistered's post---it refers to melatonin and seritonin

http://www.maps.orgmmj/index.html    has link on vaporizer

This is what I get into---when I'm afraid to go to sleep because of the CH-----hope Mr. Ashcroft isn't looking over my shoulder.    Sophie

I didn't try melatonin yet but I do smoke regularly and without a doubt I will sleep like a baby when smoking...

Well, I don't smoke anything nor drink that much (glass a year usually), but I still get CH. Go figure. But then again I'm one of those who firmly believes that drugs never work...
