Nice pics Vig!

Is the horse yours?  Arabian, a bit thick in the net for Arabian unless a stallion?  TWH? Hard to tell with jacket on.

My 4 legged kids (QH) have their jackets on too except the mini which is just a BIG ball of hair.

Give me a break.   You know its cold when the cow's have blood on their noses.   Its cold when you stick your arm out the sleeping bag and see steam.  You know its cold when the beer freezes.    Its dayumm cold tonight in the Applachians, and the horses are running around to stay warm.  The cows have snow and ice on their backs.  Its still Fall.   Winter does not even begin till Dec. 21st.   Its about to get too cold to go outdoors and take pictures.   Those digital cameras freeze.   Makes me wonder how the folks survive up there in Canada.    Doesn't winter bite?

The coldest I've ever experienced was in CHicago in the early 80's.  We hit -27 fahrenheit... -81 wind CHill.  It didn't make it above 0 for a month.  Cars would die.  Spit froze before it hit the ground.  Skin HURT after only a few unexposed seconds.  CrunCH, crunCH, crunCH when you walked.

I used to carry my film camera under my coat to try to keep it warm enough for the shutter to move and the film not to crack.  I could get a shot or two before I'd have to put the 'ice pack' back under my shirt to warm it up for a few more shots.

I really don't know how the Canadians and Minnesotans do it, because it's even WORSE there!

Stay warm friends.  Light a fire, grab a blanket, cuddle up, whatever.

84 degrees and sunny with a nice breeze of about 8 knots.
Waters warm and crystal clear.
Just thought I'd let you guys up north know that :P

I woke up to 8 degrees this morning in the Chicago area.

I lucked out though. My house is about 10 miles west of the area that got 20 inches of lake effect snow over the week end. We only got about 2 inches.

Vig,

I'm sure that you understand the meaning of 'Lake Effect' if you spent much time in Chicago.

It actually snowed here yesterday too...

and the people were disappointed!!!
