Title: Womb Moon
Post by Jeepgun on Dec 21st, 2004, 9:44am
Womb Moon

Caffeinecrash nicotinesick dawn
Worn boots hurting my soul
Walking all night striding to no destination
Gray pigeons on the gray square gray sky gray rain gray brain
Just wanna open a trapdoor into the soundless surface of
The womb moon and sleepdrink cool darkness for a millenium

Brothel dining room stew tastes like
smokesweat flatbeer and warm as I watch
the deadred sunrise with redeyes while
Madam Kali's stale cigar assaults my nose and
she cacklewhispers endless tales about people I've never met.

Rub my tired face with tired hands and watch tired trash
blowing by the grimy window in the hollow
wind through my hollow skin
Just wanna open a trapdoor into the soundless surface of
The womb moon and sleepdrink cool darkness for a millenium

Woooo, What were you thinking about when you wrote that one? I liked it, it sounded ilike you were thinking about something from your past or were you just trying to make us think!

I was very tired and very weary when I wrote that... It's a mix of dreams that I've had and images from imagination, and places I've been. Just... weary....

After reading that, Frank...I think I feel that way...thanks a lot! (just kidden) I actually am feeling kinda weary and tired, but there'll be no brothels for me. I gotta do more shopping today (with the kids). I'm hoping the sun will come out and I'll feel human again. I sure love how you can describe feelings so eloquently.  :-*

Thanks, Nani. In a dream that was mostly gray and sepia-toned, I found myself sitting in the downstairs dining room/bar/poker room by myself... I've never actually been in a brothel. In the dream, it was like one of those places in the Old West... The sky was heavy and gray and it was very windy... The whole atmosphere of the dream was dreary and lonely. Like everything in the world had been used up and was on its last gasp...

Ditto. Honest. What the point of doing THAT?

Frank--I must say, that poem is very dark. Well written, but dark.

Thanks... I often have rather dark dreams... Most of the time, writing is a form of exorcism. ;)

When I have ever been really upset about something I write it down and how I felt and exorcising it is exactly how I would describe it

*edited to say the hairs are standing up straight on the back of my neck. Look at the # of the post when I'm talking about exorcism.*

I once dreamed I was being stabbed, does that count?

Sure!

I've got another really dark one about plummeting from a tall building. I'm having a hard time finding it, but when I do, I'll post it.

There are people who don't? How strange....;)

Love the poem. weary, grey, dark.....sounds like some of the spaces I was in this weekend. How wonderful it would have been to find that door.

Things are much better now, thanks Charlie. :) I find that I am nearly always filled with weariness, though. Deep down... It's like all of the luster of this world has worn thin. At this point in my life, it is only the love of my friends and family that keeps me here.

Thank you, Ree. It's just stuff I've come through. It's like a scar: It's just proof of being a survivor. :) And yeah, I'd love to sit down and talk... :) Life is good. :)  [smiley=hug.gif]
