[smiley=hug.gif] It's not stupid. Don't compound it by beating yourself up for a legitimate emotion. I hope the beast leaves you alone so you can get adequate rest and some relief. Hang in there, my friend.  [smiley=hug.gif]

Well, if it makes ya feel any better, I am extremely depressed today.  I don't feel like it's Christmas at all. :(  I have 2 kids that are whiny, I have a freakin house to clean, Santa to see and I just don't want to do ANYTHING that has to do with Christmas.  Last night I cried, and I don't know if it has to do with me missing all my dead family or what, but it is bringing me down.  Hopefully after today, things will get better, cause if they don't, I might just sit here at home, alone in my room, and say fuck it.

a nani  :-* and  [smiley=hug.gif] to you, too, mel. Kids are always whiny around this time. It's the anticipation I think. I finally yelled at mine yesterday and said ..."Now that you don't believe in Santa you'd think you'd be sucking up to the person who gets all your presents!!!"
It didn't work... :-/

I have no idea what you parents go through with/for your kids @ Christmas but I do know about the blues and stress of it all.
My hat is off  [smiley=bow.gif] [smiley=thumb.gif] to all the parents for all you do.

It's not stupid. wendy. It's okay to be sad.

Mel and Wendy, I am imagining you both very happy and filled with the love of your families surrounding you on Christmas and every day.

Just like this family is doing here.

Mel, Wendy---Im sorry you guys feel so glum. I guess I can understand a bit. I don't have children, but wedding video was ruined and my car was stolen this month, so Im in the same boat as you guys. Feelin like crapola. Then I think of that stupid cliche... it could be a lot worse. And it really could. I sympathize w/you guys and really hope you can find some cheer.  Maybe us girls can get together sometime and take our frustrations out w/a couple of martini's. hugs and vibes to the both of you. Becky8 - When a CH cycle is rolling I have a real hard time keeping a positive attitude.  The holiday time magnifies feels, good or bad.  Holiday expectations can be a real burden.

Mel – We lost a close relative in Oct who usually spent Christmas with us.  Christmas always makes me think of relatives and of close friends who have past away.  Damn I miss my Mom – She lived for holidays.

I spent the last month reading three books – one by a journalist who spent time Chechnya, another by a journalist who spent time in Kosovo, and an autobiography by someone in Sudan.  People ask me why I reading these books about tragic events.  The main reason is I hate being ignorant about the world.  But learning about the world reinforces how blessed I am.  I wake up every morning thrilled to be alive and happy about where I live.  Job and work problems seem minor when seen on a global scale.  By no means am I trying to dismiss anyone’s personal feelings, because you can’t control feelings.  Maybe I’m just getting old, but I’m truly happy for each day I am not in pain.  Today as I was walking on the beach at lunch time I was excited about seeing the Channel Island, the sun, the ocean – damn I sound like a fruitcake from California, I guess that is what I am.

Anyway I wish you all best,  Steve
