Title: Could use some vibes please....
Post by Tiannia on Dec 30th, 2004, 12:24am
I just got back form a weeks vacation (which I also fought the flu and strep during it) to be fired today.  For all that remember, there was an ex co-worker who was out to get me when she went to work for our biggest client. And she finally succeeded.  It was rather sad that my boss did not have th balls to fire me himself, had a senior engineer do it.  All he said was that "They do not feel that you fit into where the company is heading."  This is the same man who a month ago told me that my job was secure that they could not do without me.  >:(  Utter bullshit, but all is for the best.  I have to believe that.  Keep the positive energy up.  :-/

I am hoping that I am not off for long, but all the vibes that you all can spare would be a great help.  Because of the timing, I lose my insurance as of Jan 1st. And it will be a month before Shauns insurance can be started.  So we will have to do without for at least 30 days.  I hate that my kids will be uninsured, I can get by, but in a way I feel like I let them down cause I cant provide for them.   :'(

Thank you my friends in chat tonight for the good thoughts.

PF Wishes everyone.
Blessed Be.
-Tia

Per Nevada state law they only have to cover to to the end of the month in which you are terminated. That is only 2 days away and Friday is a Holiday. nt really time enough to get anything set up.  I did ask that they lookinto carrying me for the month until Shauns is kicked in, but no guarantees yet.  The HR gal said that she would talk to them, but dont want to hold my breathe after today.

Thanks Blue.  I tought about you and that hug you gave me when you came down.  It is good to have firends that support you unconditionally.

I'm sorry to hear that Tia. They should give you at least a months insurance in severance. If not, go back and super glue all the locks shut.  ;)

Sending vibes, hugs & prayers,

Hugs and Vibes to ya! [smiley=hug.gif] As for the insurence chek into your COBRA laws (ask the insurance company about it) it is a federal law that says they can not drop your insurance, you will have to pay for it out of your pocket (hope you can afford it) but under the COBRA laws you have a right to keep it.

Medic is right about the COBRA insurance.  Dependant on the size of the company you were working for they have to offer you insurance for 9-18 months - if you choose to do it until you get on your husband's policy, they wouldn't get you added on COBRA in the next few days but it should retro back so there is not a break in coverage until you can get on your husband's policy.

Hi Tia I'm so sorry to hear about this. I hate it when mean spirited people succeed with their nasty little aims. I think your boss is a total wuss too which is a lot politer than most of the words I'd really like to use!
I hope you get a new job soon and all the insurance crap gets sorted out. ((HUG)) You are worth far more than that crappy little company anyway so stuff 'em!

Their loss Tia.

I would COBRA if you can afford it. (I know money will probably be tight now.) There is a law that if you have continuous coverage- there can be no exclusions for pre-existing conditions. FYI

You will land in a better place!

Jill
