Update on Daughters attempted suicide

Good news. Daughter in rehab and doing well. Seems stable and happier as drugs (crystall meth) leave the brain. I hope and pray, but it's really all up to her and it's a long haul. As my stress deminished, Ch got worse
(as some of you indicated it might), but big deal. Been there, done that.
She is 36 days clean and sober, has a six hour pass Christmas day to see her family and kids. Life is good -
one day at a time.

It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.

It's great to hear that she is doing so well. But I'm sure sorry that your CH cycle hasn't left yet...but it will--just hang in there. In the mean time, I know that you will have a great Christmas with your daughter on the mend. All the best to you and your family.  Pat

The CLUE is to keep her away from it.......she needs a cool hobby or sumthin to keep her busy that will be more precious to her that makes her feel as good as it did. Been there done that.....lucky for me the stuff made me burnt out and crabby......but it makes you feel like you could build a house in 5 hours and go to the moon in less. No fear.....no pain.......but there is NO gain Pam
My pets have always been what has kept me from goin over the edge......and I worship them for that.

Thanks for being there. Mr. Fix it here can't fix this one and feels sort of helpless. Would much rather be out slaying dragons. Watching and holding my breath is the best I can do. Finding the middle ground of support, love, and compassion without enabling (I know your having a rough time, here's a hundred bucks) is tougher than I thought it would be - let's hear it for Alanon and saying no with love. More updates as time degrades time. Until then,

Phil I know too well what you're going through, and I'm sorry that you are. 36 days is good. With luck it will continue and someday you can say (as I am finally able to say) My daughter has 4 years of being clean. Meth is a particularly devastating drug, I swear it robs people of their souls.
Tough love, bro. The key word is love. Supporting emotionally but not financially (unless it's buying food). Say "I know you can do this, I have faith in you!!"
I'm sending prayers that things continue to go well.

i hope she makes it thru this bro thats some tough stuff to deal with ive seen someone close to me go from a great person to someone i no longer knew ., positive note is hes a little over one year clean from it, be supportive but you have to be tough as nails too, good luck and keeps us updated.

I had one in a "get straight" program and thought I was having a stroke every time I went to a weekly open meeting and tried to talk to him over a microphone.

Update: Daughter spent Christmas (seven hour pass) with family members, her children and partner. She looks good, motivated and sane. All embraced her with love, compassion and understanding - except her partner who needs to spend a moment inside a blender.
Saw her yesterday and she was upbeat, determined and focused on her recovery. What a trooper!
