Title: CH Twas the night before Christmas
Post by catlind on Dec 20th, 2005, 2:22am
It's that time of year again, and time for my (now) annual posting of the CH Night Before Christmas...(which can also be read on the OUCH creativity page) ;)

'Twas the Night Before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas and all through house
Not a beast was stirring, all hopes were with OUCH

The imitrex bottles were stashed by the chair,
No need to use them the beast won't be there

The sufferers were nestled all snug in their beds,
They all slept peacefully, nothing to dread

Oxygen bottles in the corners with their cap,
We settled our brains for a long winters nap

When out of my reverie there arose such a clatter
I sprang from my bed, not believing what was the matter

Away to the bathroom I flew in a flash,
Tore open the cabinets and searched for my stash

The sweat on my brow from this unexpected blow
gave rise to a fear that no one should know

When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But my supporter with ice, his love so clear

With a hop and a curse it came on so quick
I knew in a moment this was no trick

More rapid than eagles with a fury it came
And I howled and screamed with the familiar pain

Now Dashing, and Dancing now Prancing and fixin
to find my O2 mask before my heart rate quickens

Try to be quiet don't bang your head on the wall
The liters are fast, the tank it looms tall

Just like the rains that with the wild hurricane fly,
I know that I can't stop, I'm going to cry

So to the kitchen down the stairs I flew
Must get the coffee started to brew

And then with a pinching I felt the proof
My eyeball exploded even pain in my tooth

As I drew in my breath and was turning around
There was my supporter, love abound.

He said go find the imitrex and stamped his foot
Under my eyes the circles black as soot,

My tears still flowed I couldn't hold back
I ran to the living room where is that sack

My eye how it burned, all I saw looked bleary
My nose started running I knew I looked scary

My temple was hurting, My ice in tow
Where is that imitrex, Where did it go

The needles I found as I gritted my teeth,
Time to inject, left or right cheek?

The prednisone left me with a huge round belly
that shook when I rocked like a bowl full of jelly

I was chubby and plump a right miserable old elf
and I knew it would pass, I'd injected myself

I rocked and I paced, wanting to be dead
when I heard a sound, and I turned my head

He spoke not a word, supporting his work
He held me close not wanting to lurk

The pain it subsided, I wiped my nose,
And giving a nod up the stairs we rose

He tucked me back in, and gave a low whistle
The pain was all gone, from the sharp burning thistle

And I heard him exclaim as he took in the sight
Happy Christmas my Love, it's over this night

Stop cooking, stop wrapping, and go to bed.

Tomorrow's another day. Again. All day.

LOL it's already tomorrow RJ.  Tuesday December 20th according to my computer ;)

I'm just getting a head start on the baking while the house is quiet.  With 12 dozen cornish pasties, 14 dozen sausage rolls, and 6 dozen tarts to bake, I figured I better get an early start.

Still have 3 garbage bags full of gifts to wrap too....
And have to go to the liquor store for booze...
And have to get the kids to the base to get their ID's done...
And have to get the house cleaned and ready for family to arrive...
And have to get groceries and a Turkey for Christmas Dinner....
And have to finish making the curtains to go over the banister to the basement to block sound so the oldest won't hear Santa...
And have to take the middle one out shopping for her secret Santa gift for school....
And have to take the little one shopping for everyone...
And of course laundry and regular household errands to do...
And....well you get the idea.  There'll be plenty of time for sleeping when I'm dead :)
