Hi Everyone, I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I am Italian but I live abroad for my work (often in the USA). Now I'm in Italy  . Is there any Italian here? I live in a village near Venice.
I am new to the site but, not to CH. It started 5 years ago, I’m episodic. Four things have helped me fight the pain; Verpamil and Litium, Imigran and Oxigen. And when I’m in cluster I try to stay away from alcohol, heat, I try not to go hungry, etc.
Anyway, It was so nice to finally find others who are going through the same thing I am. Finally found people who understand!!!! Thank you!!

I'm going to guess that Imigran is the Italian name for Sumatriptan, what we call in the USA "Imitrex"? Seems to be the most commonly used triptan for abortive...

Sounds like you're on the right medications and have the triggers under control as well. What's your story about how you got diagnosed and found such appropriate treatment?

Welcome aboard Sara. Sounds like you have your situation pretty well under control. Let us know how you were diagnosed and how you were prescribed the four most potent reliefs for CH. That is awesome! Many here have gone for ten years or more without even a diagnosis, let alone proper medications.

We do have an Italian sufferer that posts here regularly. Her name is Zaira. Even though she suffers a great deal with CH, she is a fantastic supporter.

I had the first attack 5 years ago, my ex husband is a Doctor and immediately he said: you have CH. I was recovered and, sadly, he was right.......I was diagnosed of CH. In the hospital I had some treatments with no results, so the meds decided to give me Lithium and Verapamil, a mounth later the treatment started to work. I read that someone of you is chronic, or is having a very bad time.... I feel lucky if I think about it!

Anyway, Thanks Andrè , I met Zaira this evening and I’m really proud to know her! And what a coincidence! Her grandfather was my teacher at the University! WOW!
Zaira’s art is what first attracted me, I’m so impressed with her art, I can say she has exactly her grandfather’s talent. We spoke a lot this evening, Zaira is a very special person and she has a wonderful spirit and she is beautiful inside. I’m trying to to tell you that she has an effect on people, a strong positive effect. Even if she is suffering horribly, she gave me strength to go on. Really happy to have such a wonderful woman near me!!

Welcome, sorry you have to be here. I have been away from the board for about a week now. I am amazed at how many new people there are. I am sad because there are so many. I am not sure if it is a good thing that there are so many because it shows that people are finally getting proper diagnoses, or a sad thing becasue there are sooo many of us suffering 
Very mixed feelings here
