Title: Re: 20 yrs is to long Post by Lizzie2 on May 4th, 2004, 9:30pm Hey Eddie, I'm really sorry to hear that it didn't go well. Did you ask him about O2? What did he say? Could you possibly call them tomorrow and ask them about it? Hang in there, and know we are here to support you!! Effexor is used for some headache conditions, but I don't think CH really. Vioxx is also used for some headache conditions, too. It is a NonSteroidal AntiInflammatory Drug. Keep on posting!! Take care! Lizzie |

Title: Re: 20 yrs is to long Post by OneEyeBlind on May 4th, 2004, 9:37pm Eddie, hang in there. Call and DEMAND some O2. It's cheap and doesn't have any side effects so your doc can't say NO. Just tell him it worked for you and works for other CH sufferers as well. Hang tough ! |

Title: Re: 20 yrs is to long Post by Big Dan on May 4th, 2004, 10:20pm Hey, Eddie... Title: Re: 20 yrs is to long Post by HypnoticFreddy on May 4th, 2004, 11:41pm Vioxx? For CHs, I have never heard of any Neuro prescibing that. Did he diagnose you with CHs? See a different doctor. Take the CH quiz too. Why would a Neuro prescibe Vioxx for CHs (am I missing something?) -Scott |

Title: Re: 20 yrs is to long Post by Lizzie2 on May 4th, 2004, 11:55pm freddy, unfortunately...some docs don't have a clue... lizz |

Title: Re: 20 yrs is to long Post by HypnoticFreddy on May 5th, 2004, 12:11am Yeah I just saw someone elses post that they recently FDA-approved Vioxx for migraines. I have never heard of NSAIDs being successful for CHs. God, if I saw a new Neuro, after all these years, after all this sufferring and pain beyond description and he said to take Vioxx and an anti-depressant I would have had a fit of agitation and prolly punched the guy. Sort of a joke. Sort of? Of course, Eddie if you are new.....keep reading and getting yourself informed because as unfortunate as it sounds, often we, the patients have to educate the doctors. As a tip, when in cylces I keep a headache diary and when I do see a NEW Neuro I bring a bit of literature. It only helps. Unless the Neuro is some reject. Most Neuros I have seen (hmmmm 4,5), all but one knew CH treatment fairly well. One even publishes in the medical literature as she is head of the Neurology Department at the Univ of Hartford. Key is proper diagnosis and finding an educated doctor. -Scott |

Title: Re: 20 yrs is to long Post by HypnoticFreddy on May 5th, 2004, 8:12pm Eddie, Sounds like you are taking good steps in getting oxygen and finding a high flow rate regulator. Good job. You have done some reading!!! Good luck and hope you get relief! -Scott |

Title: Re: 20 yrs is to long Post by HypnoticFreddy on May 7th, 2004, 8:10am Eddie, I have never had these problems in the ear. Perhaps other CH'ers do though. I might be concerned you have something other than CHs. Have you been diagnosed? Good luck. -Scott |

Title: Re: 20 yrs is to long Post by HypnoticFreddy on May 11th, 2004, 10:53pm Um Eddie.....I am a little worried about your mental state. Either you rush through your posts, and if you are in pain I understand but you said, and I quote, Quote:
Dude......I don't understand you. I asked if you have been DIAGNOSED with clusters. Pain on the top of the head is unusual for CHs. At least for me. It's all about the eye. -Scott |

I think he must have you on medicine that makes your writing completely incoherent. You need to see a doctor who has "at least heard of" clusterheadaches. Take action!!! -Scott |
