My daughter will be in Raleigh with my parents, which sucks for me.
I will have Julie (my girlfriend) with me, which sucks for me. We are hoping for snow near Mt.Shasta for a 2-3 day getaway.

Guys, you would LOVE the fruit cake I make. It has plums and mulled wine and it is not dry.
Anyway, what I'm not looking forward... that used to be the dessert, but since I convinced mum that I can make plum quark instead of the traditional plum thing, even that it ok.
What I don't like is not having a certain tradition for New Year's Eve. I'd like to have one. This year I'll be meeting a group of my boyfriend's friends for the first time, so it'll be bit stressful, I think...

Hmmm...not looking forward to the fact that my brother is spending lots of $$$$ for gifts for my parents (he bought my dad an ipod nano), and I can't afford much more than $50!
Also not looking forward to my grandma busting on me for "not having any friends and having to spend so much time at home" and also because my 2 best friends are married, and I don't even have a boyfriend. At one point, she even asked me if my mom was okay and said she worried about her because she knows my mom "is worried about you ending up alone." Heh....... My mom hadn't said one word about that to her and does not worry about it! My grandma always tries to throw these things into conversation in some tactful way, but it always ends up being incredibly hurtful. Now I just don't really reply to her, then later tell my mom what she said and laugh it off!
I will also check in on here as much as I can on Christmas! For those who are alone that day, you have a friend in me! Don't know that I'll be able to really talk on the phone since I'll be at my parents' house, but I'll be online I'm sure!

Hey no matter who/what is missing and wrong....Xmas is Xmas and watching my kids eye's light up that magical morning makes all the troubles in the world float away for a bit.
