Title: Holidays are for family...
Post by Redd715 on Dec 23rd, 2006, 7:50pm
Just when I thought the weather would have us home bound...

My brother, who invited the kids and I to his place tomorrow for a Holiday gathering, called me today.  I was truely heartbroken to to have had to decline his invitation due to the impending snow storm, as with Wisconsin weather it's always very unpredictable.  Wait 10 minutes and the forcast can change.

So we had the huge storm overnight, and there is more on the way but of course there is no knowing if or when it will arrive, I played it safe and said we'd opt to stay home.

So my phone rings, and he's saying how much he's in the holiday spirit, and can I send him a hug and kiss long distance.  So I make the loudest kissy kissy noises I can in the phone, and he says ..."You know sis, I hear it but I can't feel it...guess it's knowing you won't be here tomorrow.  Try it again..."  so I'm making kissy kissy's again and my front door swings open, and there he is...the BRAT!

He takes the kids and I out to a matinee..."Night at the Museum"  See it, it's a great family movie, and it's funny as hell, and you leave feeling good.

I made a huge batch of Chicken fried rice for dinner after the movie.

Makes me feel loved...

Ree,

You and your family also inspire us as well.  Please don't sell your contibutions short.

Just so you know..my brother is a bowling ball on legs, but he is the only one of my six sibling that stays in touch.

The rest are a fickle bunch.  Even the sister that begged me to take her in, then split without a word, just left a note on the table.

I'm very worried about her.  But this is her life and It's not my job to interfere.

I just hope she doesn't end up back in prison because she looses it again and makes another bad choice.
