Ok, too late to get peas and grapes, but next year... we do not have a porch, so I might put some coins by the door. Now, should I make Timo get the luggages from the attic or not... It's been lots of fun to read about who's doing what. Sanna

Guns? That IS dangerous. The mayor of this city has forbidden the citizens who live directly at the city centre (like we do) to get fireworks - they consider THAT to be too dangerous. And yes, with narrow streets and some recless people, they have a good point. So, we're enjoying all the fireworks other people from other parts of the city are allowed to get... Sanna

Happy New Year, everyone. A couple of pics from the Winter Gardens Aglow Festival at the Botanical Gardens last night. Ellen and me. Liz took the picture. We had a nice time. Cold, though. Best, George

Ah! The foreigners put on such airs Wearing the tangerine suits And their harlequin eyes. The pain they inspire Draws in harmonica melodies And the feathers of birds Which flame up at their touch. It all comes to light in the sheer Debonair. (Ellen)

We're heading to a big community New Year's Eve party. Everyone brings a covered dish, our friend's band will be playing, there will be a nice warm fire in the fireplace at The Gild Hall with lots of dancing, of course. Then we'll probably head over to another friend's house for more live music. Sunday we'll be parked on the couch watching the Philadelphia Mummer's Parade (fingers crossed that the Polish/American String Band will win first place) with the occasional trip to the kitchen for fresh and smoked kielbasa.....yummo! http://mummers.com/ http://myphl17.trb.com/community/news/mummers/wphl-mumyoutube-video,0,45 93893.videogallery?coll=wphl-mummers-1 Happy New Year!

I'll be shampooing the carpet, washing the walls cleaning, doing 6 loads of laundry and fixing broken things today and tomorrow. I've just had 4 guests here for the last 8 days. Two of them under 10 yrs. of age. THEN....I'm gonna sit down with a glass of Chablis and cry. Linda
