Christmas Trees.   8)

It's blurry but you get the idea.  I let the kids decorate ours this year.  Contrary to popular belief if you put all of the ornaments on one side of the tree it will NOT fall over.

Merry Christmas Everyone...now show me yours :)

Donna,
I love those colors! :)

Unfourtunately, back in here, the Christmas trees are just about to appear on the market and we don't have ours yet. We're getting a real tree this year (as far as I know, that is) and it will happen on Thursday/Friday.

But, I'll promise that I will post a pic of our tree once we've got it and decorated it. :)

The kids put ours up on Monday, when our friends came over for dinner.

We ended up getting a noble fir from a tree lot--sometimes we go to the mountains up around Idaho City and cut one, but there just wasn't time to do that this year.

Yeah, my picture's blurry too.  The itsy webcam on the laptop has lousy resolution.

Lots of eclectic stuff on our tree--ornaments picked one or two at a time over the years, and many with individual stories attached to them.  "Father Christmas" at the top, for example, was chosen by EJ during one of her first extended outings with Ellen, when Ellen was a month old.

Some of the oldest ornaments are from our parents and grandparents.  A few are probably 80 years old, and no doubt dripping with mercury and lead.   :-/

Best wishes,

George

This will be the first year in 38 Christmas's that I am not putting up a tree in my home.  I hung a wreath over the fireplace and that's it.

But, THE REASON IS WORTH IT!

We're heading to our daughter's house for the entire week of Christmas because she is too pregnant and her doc will not allow her to travel.  Baby's not due until 1/23, however, she's head down, dropping now.  Methinks, little Delia will be coming a tad early.  Next week????????

Isn't that a good reason??????

Sandy

Sandy, that is a reason good enough. It's a good reason, in fact. Now you can easily admire many different kind of trees right here and wonder, which one is closest to the one you would have had. :)

Rosy, I just love those ribbons your tree has, they're lovely. :)

All of the trees are beautiful!

I used to put up a live tree but unfortunately my male dog thought it was brought into the house for his "convenience".

I then began to use an artificial tree decorated with lights, ornaments, candy canes and tinsel.  All was fine until one night I turned on the light out back and noticed something sparkling in the snow.  Yup, the dreaded "tinsel turds".  Seems both dogs were not only stealing the candy canes but were also eating some of the tinsel along with the candy.

Now I have to find a small tree that I can put up on a table. :-/

If I don't watch her very carefully, the cat sits on the piano and bites (and breaks) the lights . . . . stupid cat!

It's sat here right beside my desk Linda - Anything that sits still too long here gets decorated. If Paul is walking funny it could have something to do with a bunch of holly that's mysteriously disappeared....  ;)

I love my angel too Zwibby. I first bought her when I was pregnant with Brid and although Brid is only 13 this will be my angels fifteenth Christmas.

Hey Helen, you have the same Venetian masks on the wall as I do !! I love them !!

ROTFLMAO at your 1st tree though  [smiley=laugh.gif]

Annette I love my masks, I bought them in Verona and then when I went to Venice I missed out on the opportunity to buy more! I will go back one day though.
I like other things on walls besides "just" pictures - I know that sounds wrong but I think it makes rooms more interesting!

One of the nicest tree's I've ever seen on here was Redds in 2004, it was all ribbon and flowers - I think they were like pointsettias? Redd what was it and where is your tree from this year?! That was the year Karen (Blossom) did a patriotic tree in all red white and blue and I loved that idea. I'd love to do one like that one day.

Oh I wish I had a fireplace for Christmas - a house doesn't seem a home without one! Your whole room looks so warm and inviting Carolyn, I wish I was there!

Annette I love that mask, its very pretty with all the music notes on it. I've not seen one like that before. I have another one but its one you hold on a stick so it won't go on the wall - it's beautiful but I have no way to display it - typical!

Helen - could you mount the mask in a shadow box and hang it on the wall that way?  Just a thought.
